Historical capture recovered from the Wayback Machine · captured 2013-10-31 · 15 posts
All TWL AA Ladders, European, North America and Oceanic are closed until further notice. Ladders will NOT open tomorrow Monday.

Ladder play will resume to normal when the CDC servers are fully mission cabable, there will be an announcement later when the ladders open again.

All current matches need to be rescheduled or killed.

Also due to the fact the wonderful Client Deploy system isn't working properly.
u dont need client deploy.. just use the one u used for 2.8.3.1 it works fine
All TWL AA Ladders, European, North America and Oceanic are NOW ACTIVE.

CDC has been updated.

All matches need to be rescheduled or killed. Please post your match comms.
Should everyone reschedule or kill their match this week, even tho CDC is working or can matches be played now, if offcourse both teams can use CDC and have no problems with it ?

If your match date is coming up and both teams agree to play, you play.

Yapple from AON has been gracious enough to put together an application that will clean out your directory to match the core files, and install the latest editor (which is needed to validate discrepancies with CDC).

The issue with CDC is the fact that it was designed to check files from a core install of AA. Now that there are so many options allowing players to change that. . . we still have to require a minimum matching set of files.

The easiest way to accomplish this is to install the "Patch" via the DeployClient, plus the "Editor" via the Deployclient, and remove the AALoader.exe file. . . . or, use the tool that yapple is currently working on (to ensure those files are removed and updated to the latest).

The filesize difference is nothing significant, but will ensure that everyone will be able to connect to CDC.

The requirements are simple:
  • You must have the latest version of America's Army installed, minus the "distribution.exe".

  • You must have the latest Editor installed.

  • You must remove the old "AALoader.exe" from your America's Army/System directory.

  • Thats a simple breakdown of it, but Yapples tool will fix it for you.
You can't install the new Editor without first installing the core files, which is the full version, not the patch.

Are you sure? I have been using the deploy client a bit longer then you guys, and ya. . . it may have changed so please correct me if im wrong.

But, i thought once you got the patch installed via the deployclient, it gives you the options to download the mappack and the editor?

If this is incorrect, please let me know.

    EDIT: Actually, im an idiot.
I myself, am currently running 2.8.3.1 "Patched" via the DeployClient and I do have the option to install the "Editor", "Mappack", "Videos" . . and so on.

Since there is no way to disable CDC from actually checking the AAEditor, the only option I see is instead of making you ALL download a core install. . we can just require you have either "Patched OR Core" + the latest "AAEditor".

Im off this weekend, and plan on having a resolution by this evening, although its not going to be fully functional until monday.

    Yapple has released his tool:
    http://www.airdaleops.com/index.php?topic=43291.msg216985#msg216985

Fill free to give it a try.

I have not updated both CDC servers yet, so if you have issues please post them here so they can be resolved.

fyi, aacleaner cleans your tag protect info if you choose to delete everything it suggests. It also makes the armyops.exe desktop shortcut not work, you have to go in and get the exe again from the system folder.

The reason the AA shortcut on your desktop does not work, is because it "used" to load the AALoader.exe.

The AALoader is no longer there, just copy the one out of your start menu.
I've found out today that I couldn't join the server through CDC anymore. I ran the AAOCleaner yesterday and tried to join with CDC and it worked.
Today it said I had the distribution.exe (removed it), then it just starts up the game normal, so I'd had to wait for login and then find the server myself and joined it (old fasion way).

Also, has anyone noticed it's not possible to lock their server with PW in F12 panel ??
