You have to go to your program files and open
Army opperations.
Then open system folder.
In system folder Locate User file icon and open it.Its near the bottom.
If you are worried about making changes,copy and past the unchanged
User file to your desk top or elsware so that you can replace it if.
if you choose to do so.
Here is where you will find your key bindings
You can edit them here.
Example
you will see
A=
B=
C=
D=
after the (lets say) D= type teamsay "close the door"
Like this
D=teamsay "close the door"
The D key is now bound to say close the door
To join action keys such as reload. cut and paste this command.
Reload | teamsay " Reloading! "
Example
R=Reload | teamsay " Reloading! "
These are the only 2 command you need to bind any key
| teamsay " What ever you want " for action keys
teamsay " What ever you want " For all others
after you make your changes just click file save and try them out.
There is another way to accomplish this. You can also make permanent changes to your User.ini "on-the-fly" by doing the following:
1. Open your console (tilde or TAB by default) at any time while AA is running (in a match or not).
2. type the following bind r reload or bind n teamsay Need Support !! (You will notice that there are no quotes, they are not necessary)
3. You are done.
These changes are permanently saved to your User.ini file and you do not have to relaunch AA to have them take effect. Careful about what you do, these are permanent changes.
For more scripting help, try this:
Create a new .txt file like cache.txt and just put the specific binds for that map that you want ( I use the numpad for map specific info, the main keyboard for things that can go for any map. Once you have a cache.txt file created, save it to your ARMY Operations/System folder. Now you can execute this file any time you want by opening console (tilde or TAB by default) and typing exec cache.txt
That's all there is to it. If anyone wants more help than that, I can give more tips. I also know how to write your own aliases for the game. Only thing I don't know is... is there a limit to the # of aliases that can be used ? Post edited by Jamala at 12/7/2002 10:30:28 PM
