The server admin password to a private server hosting a Teamwarfare AA match will be emailed to an AA admin 24 hours prior to the match.Servers will be set with the max team size set to 1 person above what is needed. This is to allow an admin to spectate the match if needed.Example:

If the match is 6v6, then max team size is set to 7 and max players to 14.

AA admins will randomly spectate matches as they see fit.

Servers will no longer be set to LAN. They will be set to global with authorization on. If a team memeber fails to authorize, that team will play without him. There is no reason why anyone here should fail authorization.

Only player names listed on your roster will be eligible to participate in mathces. If you have an in-game name different than what you use in matches, your not eligible to play.Sorry, I was expecting the in-game name change feature to be included with the new patch. It wasn't. The name differnces is causing way to much confusion. You passed basic once, you can do it again.

Servers must be authorized by HomeLAN. My suggestion would be to email me a screenshot of your server admim screen at the AA site where is shows your server is authorized.

There is no reason why a team should have concerns over any of these items

No, but if it was NATO_Flintstone or FRAG_Thydron then we would have to ban you and your team would lose the match bla bla bla (you get the idear)

Sending you the password to our server the thing is i dont want to get any complaints of lag if an admin enters our server i have not tested my connection if it can handle 13 connections i do however know it can handle 12 you see my point here i also understand your need to be able to check up on things but as i said above i dont whant any whining afterwards if the pings rise dramatically with 12 players and 1 admin in there

They are going to have to deal with it.
Very good idea.

Rgr that in that case i dont see any problems with it
ah HA!

i eagerly await passwords... lol
doesn't the new setting for admin spectators cover the admin? so that max players would still be set normally?
OK there are TWO admin spectators!

1. The people running the server can sit and watch the hole match but not actually be in the server.

2. The one we are going to be useing. Is a Admin joining the server. say there is a match between clan x and clan y. they setting will give me the option of joining the server

It is nice to be remembered, But it is far cheaper to be forgotten

Hmm... didn't know there were two different admin spectate modes... still not really clear on it.

So if I have an admin spectate opening, I can log in as admin and watch (as well as fix settings as needed, with the new GUI)? Or do I need a player opening?

I suppose I'm confused over the "not actually being in the server, yet watching" part.
NO if the server is PW only people have the pw can join.that is why we want the PW and Ip emailed to the TWLAA admins.

The Other Admin is the Serve Admin they are the ones who run the Server!!

Oh I think I got you...

1. Just plain spectator that doesn't play.
2. Admin.. logged in with admin password.

And you want the admin pword. In which there is a new setting that allows the admin to login, I think, even when maxplayers is full. Haven't tested it thoroughly, though I think it works.

^^^ Umm, no. I want the server admin password.Cybercub has the right idea. I haven't tested it either. Haven't had the need to until now.If it works, all the better.

Teamwarfare matches are set so that you can only spectate first person and from your own team. When you log on as server admin you can spectate from any position or player and from any view.

Yes, technically we would have control of the server. In reality, none of us is going to do anything but watch.
That's what I thought.

I know what you're talking about, Nipple. You're talking about the server.exe DOS box that actually runs the server (is the server). Except you can't do anything in that except watch the little lines fly by. That's not really a spectate mode... heh. I don't refer to that person as the admin unless they are logged in as admin. They're just the server host.

psi knows what I'm talking about.

And yes. It does indeed work. I just tested it. Even though capacity was full for players, admin could still log on as long as there was an admin spot. I recommend setting this at two. One for the TWL admin, one for your own admin.
I hate to go aginst the admins here but i really dont like the ideal of emailing my admin password and server pasword for a match so if a twl admin wants he can come babysit

has this game gone that bad ?

in the 2 aa matches i have played in aginst sob and Virtual 75th i met some good ppl who were very good sportman.
A couple of reasons I see this not working is
1.switching your server config around will cause your server to be un aproved and taken off the list
whats going to happen to the younger/underfunded teams who cant afford to have 2 servers? i myself have a box so its not a problem per say

2 where will the phantom hunting stop i really dont think this will solve anything
why isent a copy of the server ini and log enough what more are you going to learn from observer you dont see all that much anyway

what if you have this option put into the admin panel that eather team can request an admin babysitter?

seem's better to me than having to give out passwords evry week ect. it brings more hassle to the game
better yet why not have a nfl rule added like say if you contest a match and judgement isent in your favor then you forfiet 15% of the ladder hehe see teams droping down rungs and all thease bullshit "he cheated" will be filterd out and the ppl that honestly feel they were cheated would think befor they contested the match to make sure

just my rant id hate to see anything hurt the game but i feel this will .
but i respect the judgment of the admins and will get in line as needed when and if this rule is add'ed
Um.. it won't affect your server being on the list at all.

I change mine several times a day and it doesn't get taken off of any list. You just edit the server.ini file.. or whichever ini file you use to run it.

I believe as TWL admins, they have this right to randomly view any matches they want. I don't see any problem in it either. If there is a problem, they can check on it easily. If there's a server config problem, they can even remedy that.

Them randomly popping in on matches discourages people from thinking about cheating during TWL matches, as they could get caught when they least expect it.

I like it, though I wish the admins didn't have to waste their time doing such a thing.
well i could add some fine points like thease not that #1 matters but.....
1. i pay for bandwith there going to be using when on my server
2.not all teams have the need or want for a admin to peak in
its a distraction some teams are more grown up than that so why not make it an option in admin panel?

why dont the devs add a demo option so we can just recored the match and give it to the admins like tribes 2

Your server listing has been APPROVED and AUTHORIZED. ( 66.150.31.69 / Heart Break Ridge )

IMPORTANT: Changing ANY of your server information will UNLIST and UNAUTHORIZE it until its reviewed and approved again.

umm maybe homelan/usarmy dosent check but i wouldent bet on it

Adding an admin will hardly increase your expenses...

The baby-sit option wouldn't work because the same teams would request it everytime. And it would take up a lot of the admins' time. The admins clearly prefer the random method.

And the admins here don't exactly have the space to store all those demos (just taking a wild guess here), nor the time to go through them all.

And yeah, the HomeLAN server never checks the settings. Don't worry about it. Almost everyone's servers would be unauth'd and unlisted right now if they did check for that.
err i was just making a point i stated that it dident really matter ., i dont agree with this rule so im stating it , when it takes affect ill shut my mouth and jump in line with the other players but i dont feel a rule change this big is needed
Oh don't worry about it, I was just trying to show the other side since I'm sure more people will complain about it. I understand your worries though.

I don't feel this is needed either, but I don't have a problem with it.

yes and the first time i deside to change my setings homelan will check , "my luck" and the results would be a compleate rule violation , then id be in hot water with the admins
Oh yeah, they also have no way of checking your server settings in the INI file (it's just a local initialization file). And you ARE free to change those settings in the IN-GAME GUI for admins, so it is clearly no longer a violation.

I think what they meant with that warning is about changing IPs and server names (which people still do).

they dont check that the only thing they check is if your server can work with your connection as well as they Ping check it's online 1 server sitting offline for too long and they remove it from the list i have changed my damn server settings almost dayly so it wont pose a problem for you trust me

Maybe we that have joined TWL and play AA can help with the space and store some of the demos, you only need the demos long enough time to know that either team will not press charges, or whatever you call it.
Now things are getting out of hand !! Okay I know admins are doing this to prevent cheating. God blees them for doing this job, but is cheating really such a big issue ?? In the matches I have played nothing has been out of the ordinary. In my squad we say "die before dishonor" so we absolutly do not cheat. I just rented a server at gaminghost and they are not the fastest people around. Im not even sure I can mail the log to admins that fast. They have to send it to me first. Im not even sure I can get the server auth´ed by AA. Took me 2 month to get it auth´ed when I ran my private server. I don´t even like the idea of giving out my password.

Is cheating really such a big problem ???
(just asking becasue I haven´t seen it)

That's basically what I was refering to. If the server is set to have a MAX of 12 players the game is 6v6 admins can't log in.There has to be spot open.

Also, this is not something I like doing. I would rather not get involved with he matches unless it was requested. But,with the amount of accusations flying around I can't find any other any other way to make sure sue there is no cheating.

I could do this on a per request basis, but what happens on the night that there are five requests and only four admins? Also, the cheats are modifications to files. It would be very eay to keep a backup of that file that is 'clean' and when they know an admin is going to be there they just replace the 'dirty' file with the 'clean' file.

(yes,this has been edited-Psi)

Need I make mention that the authorization server has its problems, sometimes is down and sometime times out. I have had it happen to me alot of times.

Likewise with ingame account matching their roster name, lets hope this isn't enforced down to a single character because it could serve as a nasty technicality that rules mongers will ruin alot of good matches with.

Authorization is the only way to crc check the files. If its down, then match will need to be rescheduled. And any dispute is up to the discretion of the admins. No its not going to be enforced down to the letter. But,I have ahd alot of problem with names being no where near close. And it makes it a pain in the ass to read the server log when you can't tell who is who.

yup Auth servers have problems every now and then thats for sure i think they were down last night again my server was empty at around 12am never had that happen on a saturday before so i figure they were offline

So, if my AA-acount name is "-=Nordbat=-Alarinn", do I need to change the AA account to "Alarinn", or can I just change my TWL name?. Or is Alarinn close enough to my AA-name?

So, far there hve been 7 teams accused of cheating. And 4 teams that I suspect of cheating due to the fact that they have members that have openly posted on the cheat site that they are working, have worked on, or want cheats.

wanna stop bullshit accusations ? make a rule if you contest a match and judgment is not in your favor then your team is drop'ed down 15% of he ladder or more that will put a stop to some of the sore losers and make the good teams think hard about filing a complaint unless they honestly feel its warrented

if you see members on cheat sites it meens nothing there could be lots of reasons for looking for information on cheats , such as how to stop them or to send the cheat files to the devs ,
i wouldent assume someone is cheating just because of that but id definetly keep my eyes on them
as for what happens when x amount of teams ask for a sitter?
it just meens the twl admins can sit if they want same as this upcoming rule it also meens the # of servers they may have to sit in on drops cause some teams know eachother and would prefer an admin not babysit
as an option in the admin panel it makes sence as a global rule it makes it a compleat hassle for server admins
If both teams agree not to have an admin spectate, thats fine. But no protests concerning cheats will be heard.

If your upset with the fact that the admins here are doing what they can to prevent the game from becoming another CS, then I'm sorry.

Explain how its a complete hassle for the server admin to change 2 numbers? Explain how a team is going to prove being shot from half way across the map by someone using Auto Aim On and Target Area Head?

And yes, I edited out the part your refering to.

If you actively engage in the modification, for what ever reason, to any AA game file, you will be asked not to partitcipate. The fact of the matter is-the EULA for the game and statements made by the dev's prohibit modifications to their files. It is copyright infringement. If they wanted you to play with their files, they would have issued an editor. But,they haven't.They do not wish to see the game become CS either.I will not condone people breaking the law on this ladder.

As for demorecs-Anyone ever stop to think the reason they don't have them is because the engine does not support it yet? Don't bitch at the dev's,bitch at Epic.No other game uses the Unreal Warfare engine. Why? It's not complete.

The Army gives you a free game to play. They can only work with what they have. This isn't T2 where you are paying money and should expect certain things. This game is free and no one can expect them do any more than what they have.

Not only do I have a responsibility to the teams that wish to play honestly. I also have a responsibilty to the ladder admins to make their job as easy as possible.Do you think we enjoy having to parse 500-1000 lines of server log everytime someone has a protest over something petty? No, we don't. But, we do it to make sure things are being done fairly. That's why we are here. At least help make our job a little easier. We all volunteered. We aren't paid to be here. The option is always there for us to walk away.

And to be honest, I admire the admins I have for sticking around.Because not only do they have to listen to protests and complaints. They have to put up with my constant bitching about making this the best it can be.

If your not happy with the way we run things, there is a whole list of names on the staff page you can contact.

Alarinn is close enough. What I'm talking about are teams that have [Dung]Heap listed on Teamwarfare, but he plays under Shitpile.

if this is the way it has to be so be it.
