I just installed this soundcard and my mic doesn't seem to work unless I have it on all the time.. I have put my ts on button act but I can always hear myself on it which get annoying. Also everyone else on ts says I have alot of feedback now.. Its really hard for them to hear me at times.. Now when I used my onboard mic It worked fine. No problems at all. Can anyone help me?

I try that but it mutes my mic totally. I goto control panel sound and audio devices , and mute it from there. Do I need to get into bio's to do it?

Mute mic in Windows, make sure volume is around halfway, open Creative Surround Mixer, make sure Microphone is selected under Record on the far right. If that doesn't work, make sure your mic is plugged in the correct slot

I don't know if it makes a difference or not but make sure Direct Sound is selected in the Settings of TS. Might try playing around with Input/Output. Mine is set using the sound card itself instead of Primay Sound.

Double click your sound icon in the bottom right corner.
Click options > properties
Put the check on recording, and in the box below check mark everything, then click ok.
Make sure microphone is checked and not "what u hear".
control panel> sounds & audio devices > properties > advanced > microphone > advanced (trying to remember the exact path, I'm at work so I can't check)

in there is a box marked mic boost

turn this off, it raises the level 20db and causes feedback and generally annoys anyone listening to you

My audigy 2 set this on by default when I installed it, just had to find it and uncheck the box
