HACKING

TWL has a ZERO tolerence policy regarding Game Hacking. This rule covers players who use code to manipulate a particular game for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage over other teams and players. Wallhacks, speedhacks and aimbots are just examples of the types of cheats covered by this rule.

"Testing" or "Trying out" Hack Programs will not be accepted excuses. Simply put "Do Not Install Hacks for any reason"

Ladders:

1. Hacker caught in TWL Match:

- forfeiture of the existing game
- Player Permanently banned from TWL.
- Team, Loss of rungs 20%. In cases of ladders having few teams they will be dropped to the bottom.

2. Hacker Caught in Match outside of the ladder (League match) or in a match outside of TWL:

- Player Permanently banned from TWL.
- Team, Loss of rungs 20%. In cases of ladders having few teams they will be dropped to the bottom.

3. Hacker caught in a Pub/Scrim :

- Player banned from TWL for 1 yr.
- 2nd Offense Perma Banned.

Leagues:

1. Hacker caught in TWL Match:

- forfeiture of the existing game
- Player Permanently banned from TWL.
- Team will forfeit any match (for the present season) that the offending player was *proven to have played in.

2. Hacker Caught in Match outside of the ladder (League match) or in a match outside of TWL:

- Player Permanently banned from TWL.
- Team will forfeit any match (for the present season) that the offending player was *proven to have played in.

3. Hacker caught in a Pub/Scrim :

- Player banned from TWL for 1 Year.
- 2nd Offense Perma Banned.

* Opposing teams will have to provide proof to TWL Admins in the form of Demos, Screenshots or Server logs that the opposing team did have this player on their team. Proof must be provided within a 48 hr period.

Admin Notes:
- TWL will continue to support teams who Police themselves of hackers and cheaters. In the case where a team Purges a hacker from their ranks and brings it to the attention of TWL staff. TWL will (waive the Drop in ladder rungs or forfeiture of past league matches.)

Nice.
I don't suffer from insanity - I enjoy every minute of it
[BBR] will continue to notify TWL and PB of cheaters we have found.
Keep up the good work guys.
Nice. Zero-Tolerance is the way to go and I applaud TWL's resolve to enforce it!
Zero-Tolerence is the only way to go. Good move TWL

I think TWL is taking a stand against cheating all around which is why Maddog stepped down from Game Manager to "Anti-Cheat Admin." The old policy was to depend on CDC and the only way we could do that was during matches. Now that people can take PB SS of players on there server and provide them as proof of cheating, TWL will take a Zero-Tolerance stand against pub cheating also. This was done in order to help the community as a whole in which I think TWL plays a big part.

Edit: Spelling Mistakes.

I think point 2 and point 3 should be the some:

- Player Permanently banned from TWL.
- Team, Loss of rungs 20%. In cases of ladders having few teams they will be dropped to the bottom.

yes.
This is a site wide decision from the high muckety mucks....

I do think that sukbots are exempt.....

Kinda hard to fake if md5 are verified etc etc, there are ways to tell if pictures are altered. It's easier on the net then in real life for pictures/paintings i can tell you that . But then again a great great grpahical artist could get passed almost everything but the md5 hash ;-)

What sort of varification will TWL require to "prove" the identity of a cheater? We've already discovered that cheaters can "co-opt" names. I assume there will be more required than a name and a PB screenshot...
I encountered a cheater the other day that could change his name to anything he wanted, including mine, meaning I got kicked for duplicate log-in. How would something like that look on a pb screenshot? Can you see by the GUID that it aint the original player cheating? This guy was doing it on his own server but I have also spotted similar things on leased-officials.

Otherwise, hooah to the anti-cheat rules!
there is more then a name to track a cheater with

I applaud TWL's community spirit. Banning somebody that cheats anywhere will help the whole AA community. Cheaters should not be tolerated or allowed to play AA anywhere. If you thought you were some how honorable because you only cheated in the pubs, you couldn't be farther from the truth.
Good news for us and bad for cheaters. Only 1 question: Why we had to wait this decision so long?

This has basically been our stance for a while now. This is not just a TWL AA thing, this is a TWL site wide policy now for all games.

PB works differently the CDC so we didnt have a great way of verifying players. We do now.

As for the site policy, Other ladders/leagues have had a share cheater info with TWL. For AA, there were really no other places for AA and so many team had GOAA servers that they could not retrieve proof from, we let it go and relied on CDC. Now that GOAA hass allowed teams to access their SS and the high TWL muckety mucks have really endorsed attacking cheaters, we can use outside tools to really attack cheaters anywhere they want to cheat. Add in the recent PB update that has really hit cheaters hard, we are probably at our highest cheat free percentage ever....too bad the cheaters wont give up and move on to something else....

Awsome! GG TWL.

3. Hacker caught in a Pub/Scrim :

- Player banned from TWL for 1 Year.
- 2nd Offense Perma Banned.

what a load of crap, if they cheat in PUB, it should have nothing to do with what happens in TWL. Actually, TWL should have ZERO involvement when it comes to Pubbing. Also, unless CDC is used in a Scrim, then TWL should keep their nose out of it.

Why do you wanna protect cheaters? If you cheat in an online game, you're a dirty cheater, it doesnt matter if its on TWL or in Pubs. Doing it is cowardly, dishonest and non-respectful of the other players in the server. If your view is that it's ok to cheat in pubs but not in competition then you clearly does not have the right attitude or maturity to play an online game at all.
