Yay, let's see who can build the best meta-team

I'm tired of playing teams on the ladders who are clearly put together as something like 1 TWL Admin and the top 20 players from 7 other teams. These "meta-teams" aren't fun to play and slow my squad down from playing clans that are more like us (just looking for fun and put together from recruits, etc).

I don't have much of any solution for the despair I get by being challenged from these people restarting the ladder or just starting out...but it gets tiring when each week a new "meta-team" is using us as its 4th or 5th undefeated game in a row as they bound into the top 20 to play the other 19 meta-teams. We take what time we can to prepare for the match and then get snuffed 7-0...7-1...and then face the next ubercrew that just got started a week after the previous one.

Am I alone in this? How many recruited teams are still out there that aren't frankensteined like some sort of McDonald's All-American team?

You'll only be in the top 10-20 if you're good enough. We're top 20 and we have no admins, MOs, Mods, nothing. We got there by playing as a team.

I'm not concerned with being in the top 10 or necessarily even 20. But we're defending against our second one of these teams in a row this coming match. They both came out of the 70's rankings with a 4-0 record as they head to finally even competition.

The real kicker this week is that they had the opportunity to challenge the last uberteam that just beat us 7-1...but chose to play us instead.

We're not going to play dead for them, but it still shows what sort of mentality they're playing with. Instead of playing the better competition, they chose to play the better odds.

I dunno...maybe I wish there were a way to challenge only those within a certain win percentage to your record too..

They cant play the better competition yet because you can only challenge certain ranks, from your rank. After they get past their "better odds", then they can challenge the real competition.

They are #73. We are #54. #53 just beat us and did not challenge during immunity, therefore are currently open.

#53 is 4-0...all 7 vs. 0-2 wins.

Thanks. You may think I'm "crying", "whining", or whatever you like, but the *fact* is they could have challenged a team of their equal record.

Then what the hell is the big deal. Your are in for the fun, and if this isnt fun then that means go practice and get better so u can start beating people. Thats where the fun is, and i guess if you dont start practicing, then your "fun" will not happen.

Gotta agree with pinkeye, don't see any "meta-teams" (or "all-star" teams, as i call em). But I do agree with you, it can be frustrating playing against them. The only "solution" is to prevent players from being on multiple teams, but I don't think thats a good idea. Some teams only participate on 2-3 ladders/leagues, but their players would like to participate in more; this way, they can. Would it be any different if a top-5 team joined the ladder and walked their way up the ladder? No. Basically, whenever I play a team that is way outta my league, I try to just have fun and no worry about if (more like how badly) we get beat.

And i forgot to say, your are playing OM. Go look at their clan page and look at their other rankings.

yeah OM has been around for a while. They're a damn good team. You've played a couple of good teams, but it's their perogative to challenge whoever they want to.

quit whining. Some teams take pride in being good. I'm so sorry that you had to lose, the admins should ban all the people that are too good.

We've been playing together for a while man. Trust me, the only All-Star we have is Walt, and the rest of us are just nubs that use good teamwork... ask Mr. Sneaky about it, he'll give yah the scoop.

Hello WhiteTiger.

While I can see your point about the so-called "all-star" teams, I can assure you that Operation Mayhem is not one of them. No member of our roster is on another team (that I am aware of). We just recently joined the 4v4 ladder because we were invited to the newly developed 4v4 invite league. Joining the ladder only made sense to prepare us for 4v4 competition.

The fact that we challenged your squad was merely a function of timing. We look forward to our match with you. GL and HF.

1) Move all good teams up to the top 25 as soon as they join a ladder.
2) Create a noob ladder
