Call of Duty: United Offensive Is Closing

Historical capture recovered from the Wayback Machine · captured 2008-03-13 · 45 posts
As of April 1st, Call of Duty: United Offensive Ladders are being locked and the ladders will close on April 10th to allow the final matches to be played. All ladders have dropped below the 20 team minimum.

I would like to thank all the teams that have played in this game. I hope those that played this game can continue to compete on Teamwarfare under other various games.

This game has lasted 3 1/2 years here at Teamwarfare. I have seen some great teams play over the years on these ladders and continue to wish them the best.

Alright, well. TWL has been decent to myself. Thanks for the good times, and the shitty times. However, I must ask this one question.

Who's the brainiac who brought back the 4v4 all weaps ladder just to close all the ladders 2 weeks (even?) later? We just brought on 4-5 new teams. I suppose the time has come regardless. Anyways, poor planning on someone's part. You had a good run UO.

didnt we just bring the 4v4 sd all weps back.
what an early April fools joke haha.
agreed. lol @ that well this game is basicly pointless w/o twl no one scrims unless its a twl match any more.so guess its time for me to try n get good at cod4 lol.

We tried to get it running, but activity just isn't there. BA rules the activity roost and did it with fewer teams.

*sigh* This will be the 3rd game I've watched close that I've worked as an admin.
lame.
Good riddance, had some good times with UO but this games been dead for over 1/2 a year.
Damn this is the only game im good at. :O
*tear* Uo is my best game... Although i am aware of its death lol. i agree with chance though, no one except 4-5 clans scrim anymore, so uo is dead... I guess i might be moving on to CS or CoD4.

R.I.P. United Offensive.

P.S. - I'll miss everyone that ive played, from good to bad.
Well this is kinda stupid, is their no chance to just kill all the ladders but 4v4 SD all weps. We have a few teams thats into that ladder and Love it, along with myself, HBS fought for the 4v4 SD all weps, and now its back and you wll just going to shut it down, show us the justice in that. Many other clans will still play UO, just for fun. Can you atleast leave the 4v4 SD ladder up? I know many teams still play that out of all the ladders CoD:UO offers. So please, leave the 4v4 SD all weps ladder up
Maybe you could close the ladders with the least activity so most players could gravitate toward the most active ones.
Better to have 2-3 active ladders than 12 inactive ones...

Least then the game could have a shot at keeping at it.
I wouldnt mind being an admin, running uo. im sure lots of people wouldnt aslong as they got to keep playing
This is probably thje worst mistake you are going to make TWL. So ya....good playign against you all guys, it has been a memorable experience and will never forget the close battles, the rolls and the being rolled. Viva la CODUO!

Basically what i said, its a smart idea, and also being a TWL admin for UO is no worries either. I have some free time
i do agree with you guys that closeing this sucks but i really dont think there is any hope in trying to bring it back i mean i figured it was going to close after the eu ladders closed i guess we should just let cod end after all this would mean less clans and less players so unless clans are going to inclan all the time *caugh*hbs*caugh* then maby there would be more scrims with the few clans that are alive but i really see no point in trying to fight this one.
can't help it if your 'inclan' is a 3v3.

I hate to see this ladder go ... it's really been active. We are always scheduled to play, and all of the teams show up. Sure, there aren't as many teams left, but those that are here continue to play the game.... we've made a lot of friends and the competition has been awesome. I wish the 6v6 BAS ladder would stay. It's a fact that there aren't many scrims ... but, that's because we're actively playing matches and have honed our strats for several years... a lot of folks will be affected by the closing of this ladder. It may be small in the number of teams, but it's definitely not a dead ladder... maybe we can find another ladder website that would host UO.

good thing is that BAS will finally be dead
Oh well GG's TWL. Uo was the best game out and still kicks cod2's ass. I would like to thank all the admines who made UO a success in the leagues and ladder and all the teams that played.
I love the people knocking BAS it makes those of us who are still playing it feel all that more special then we already are!

Country is there anyway to close the less active UO ladders in favor of the few more active ones such as BAS? Things are pretty much automated as far as match play goes and I don't think the UO:BAS ladder requires that much space so other then an overseer what all is required?

I would volunteer to help out with the ladder if it meant it could continue EVEN IF IT MEANT NOT PLAYING MYSELF.
I, as many others, appreciate the time and effort put in by the admins of TWL. I would also like to ask that they reconsider the 6 v 6 UO ladder. While it is not the most active ladder out there it does stay busy enough to warrant another chance. Please reconsider.
HI!!!!!

I still think this is total BS, we had a deal, you said that 4v4 SD all weps could be up, if 10 teams were active, not 20...and now you are going to close it down....TWL FTL
I'm willing to comeback and make a team.
an alternative league can be formed starting with cod uo with out the shitty twl admins
Here's another thought, why not add 3 or 4 new maps to the UO ladder, there are plenty of good maps available to choose from. Put up a list of 6 or 8, let members vote for which they would like to see added and drop most of the others.

or change the ladders from 4v4 to like 5v5 SD all weps and so one
What I dont understand is why hbs is so eager to keep losing?

opps.
This decision was made because after recent ladder prunings, the ladders fell below the 20 team minimum. The most on a ladder was 15 and the percent active was quite low also. BAS was the most active ladder. I was hoping the new SD ladder would have brought a ladder above 20 to keep the game going.

is it to late?
Why so important to have 20 minimum? Is it too much work for the admins? I am sure there are others that will help if that is the case. Who are the powers that be that need to be appealed to to keep bas active?
=WFC= is going to miss the UO TWL ladders. I hope you can find a way to keep them going. But if now. =WFC= is glad that we were there from the beginning and the end. Thanks for the great matches and the ones that weren't so great.
I like Pershings idea of adding some other maps to the rotation for the BAS ladder. Maybe that would help to rekindle some of the interest too.

I for one would help out but am interested in knowing why there has to be at least 1 ladder for UO containing 20 teams in order for UO to continue?
To Cpuntry, Knght, Deadone, Reaper:
I/My clan is willing to help in any way needed to keep the base alive. If there is anything we can do, please let us know!
lol bas is now crying because they wouldnt join any other ladders to help the game stay alive
Noone is crying we're simply trying to save our ladder because we are still active unlike the other UO game types. If BAS is the most active then why should we be penalized or expected to carry other game types?
"Please Hold, attempting to save game in progress"
