Whitelist Question

ok im not sure if this can help or not...the main complaint about this is cleaning out your uo dir for matches

i noticed big mods use their own folders and the fs_game command(like german front mod) so i copied all stock/allowed twl files to a twl folder under cod..with its own config as a test(different resolutions and name than in the uo folder) and made a shortcut on the desktop like this

"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\CoDUOMP.exe" +set fs_game twl

and it worked my name was change to that in the twl config and then through the normal shortcut back to normal name and settings..

so my question is that can the whitelist be directed toward a folder other than uo?..so that noone must run batch files or delete their maps/mods..i was thinking someone can easily create an installer that copies the stock files to a TWL folder and creates a TWL Match shortcut on the desktop..

the ease of this if possible would be much more affective and user friendly than it seems to be now...figured anything to help the not so computer friendly userse and to keep the fun in twl for those teams who just play to be playing

edit...i did notice however you can still run cfgs from the uo folder even with fs_game command so im not sure if it could work but it might be possible

Lol.. would be a good idea.. and well, it was.. until that "edit" line... that reflects the main purpose of the white list.. since with the use of fs_game, you can select another directory (I use this for awe which is in another directory), however, everything in the uo directory can still be accessed, executed, etc..

On that note though, one possibility is a second COPY of your COD named for example, COD-TWL and in that directory tree, your UO folder is stock and compliant with the whitelist.. I sometimes run a server, and use a secondary copy of coduo to run it since I don't want people that connect to my server, have to download all the custom maps that I have when I play on servers..
why don't you make a fs_game folder for pub play?

then launch normal for a match and change your shortcut for pub play to +set fs_game pubdir or whatnot.

ever thought of that? that way you don't have to try and make ppl change a huge config (Which i don't believe they could accomodate your request anyways) and it's no more hassel to you than what you originally proposed.

Here is a free mod manager. Most of the ones I've seen just rename files or require you to put something in the mod folder (the free ones anyway). So if you still need one you can dl mine at http://www.ClanPredators.com. And if i'm not suppost to post something like this, then sorry I didn't read the posting rules.
well the whitelist is bullshit im not go to delete all files in my ou file to play twl this suck
You don't have to DELETE.. just MOVE..

It took you 30 seconds to move a bunch of pk3s and configs for what?? you can just put your pk3s in your /main and they still work, and you can still exec scripts from ANY folder on your harddrive.... so, good job at fixing nothing TWL.
you guys should have tested this ALOT more before you released it.. because we figured this out the day before it was suppose to go live.
