I live near the flight path. I could see the trail and felt the shockwave.

They gave their lives trying to help humainty, not harm it.

The only consolation is that they died doing what they loved to do.

I too watched in horror through my binocs and couldn't believe what happened. A very sad turn of events. My heartfelt prayers go out to all the astronauts and thier families :'(

They knew the risks and the danger....

And yet they went anyway....

That means they were either fools or heros, and I don't think there is anything foolish about the space program (except maybe that the media has zero coverage of it unless something goes wrong). God bless the crew of STS-107 and all those before and hopefully after that keep the hope of space exploration going for they are true HEROS.....
