HEL goes to West Point Militay Academy

I have been invited by West Point to lecture the senior class on gaming, clans etc and shall be arriving there next week. A small part of my presentation is going to be on leagues/ladders and I am going to showcase folks the teamwarfare league.

Funny thing: On the invitation letter I got this evening, they use the word 'mission' to describe it.

It seems odd that they might be interested in Gaming Clans tho.

it probably has more to do with the teamwork aspect of online gaming, just a guess tho seeing as its a military school. im sure americas army is a big game at west point. im sure they use it as a traing device in conjunction with the m.i.l.e.s. gear, but probably before they go thru actual simulated combat, plus i would imagine it to be cheaper. blanks arent chep, and you need them to use the miles gear, and i can tell ya you can go thru about 3-4 mags worth in a few hours.

I dont know like to talk about what it is in detail till it actually turns out sucessful. I been working on things for HEL for last 2 months which takes us to another level. But Banshee is on the right track to some extent..

We might be have strong possibilty of going to Comdex next month.. and for sure E3-looks like we have been sponsored to go to E3( confirmation emails have been sent to me by a gaming house)... so there is a lot of exposure coming up.

Some of you who visit our site have seen that we are also wining several beta contracts from some big gaming houses. Lastly, its to be seen if I can be sucessful in getting sponorships for HEL to the big lan tournaments. so yeah! there are some awesome times for HEL coming up,however I always make sure that I advertise good things happening for gamers , whether it be an idea from within HEL or any other clan/guild/organization.

It's been fun flying out to meet some of the tops guys in the gaming industry for last couple of months. Internally within HEL they know names of Vp's /Presidents I have had meetings with... externally I prefer to annouce it when deals are struck. Ofcourse some of them are strictly in private forums. Because of MNDA's I cant talk about them on public forums.

I tell ya one thing.. if there are any good organizations we look to invite them to merge with HEL.. now is a great time. For example:I am sitting on 3 beta contracts and already have had 2 in the last month or so.

I need as many serious gamers as possible .. even with over 400 gamers in HEL... I see us wining so many betas that it wont be enough. I have managed to employ a couple of folks from HEL on a small salary thru some contracts we have won. Its a rock and roll time for us...

I dont really consider my post and actual flame, and it's not really relevent to the subject of the thred either. More of a, stating what I think kinda thing(based on my limited knowlege of you). I have stayed out of the flame wars due to the fact that I was never part of hel and did not know you. Of course this makes my statement even more cloudy as I read this, so take it as you will.

silly question - but is there any way you can post your speech after the event; perhaps on your web page for the rest of us to see and maybe archive?

just a thot... I think the Banzai Institute would love to have a proper presentation speech on gaming in our archives...

Umm... I think I am going to disregard the last 13 posts and say good job to HEL. Its nice to see a group in the MW4 gaming community gain notoriety. I hope all goes well with the West Point thing and the beta thing. I have done my share of Beta testing in the past and it is pure fun.
You get to yell at the poor programmers about their obvious idiocy in not fixing this or that.

Seems the person @ west point just edited the original invitation where were were to go on 10 & 11th (thrusday to 14th)...something that is supported in that BMR clans post I had made... 10th was a thursday.

Moved to Oct 14 &15Th... they could not get us back to atlanta on the 11th night..

I am are there for 2 days...arriving on the 14th afternoon, returning late 15th... lecture is in the morning on the 15th

Never knew our military takes days off...

Menace , I am going to West point for gaming clans and because of HEL and the powerhuse I have created..My company is also in the gaming vertical.

I have also personally pitched VP @ EA... to The President @ gamespy and many more gaming houses. We are under contracts with some and will be under some others in few weeks.

I have out done you in everything i.e. life and online gaming.
