Just make it so nobody can create a new thread. That way they will read the stickies and figure it out for themselves.

then what about the people that need to post in this forum for things like a button doesn't work, or when they click submit loss it gives them a win or something? we need the site support to support other things, name changes just happen to be the spam bigger part of it.

What you just described is the built-in help system. No one can post there, but all can read. It even has links to the stickies...

..it would save on a ton of stress..

Just make a miscellaneous sticky to handle all those types of problems. I suggested this a long time ago.

To which Neo said you guys would be called Nazi's for doing something like this but it would be worse to ban people for making name change threads don't you think?
