I want to start this off by giving props to geiss, master mapper, for he indeed did as much for this map, or more, then I did. I wanted to make this as T1-like as possible, so that is what you are getting, thick fog and all.

I want to be able to change this map later on if it turns out that a rover and less fog do it good, but we are going to try it as it is for now. Anyway, enough B.S., here are some screenies:

Thanks to all who helped beta, love to all. Hope you guys like it

i was playing that last night, seemed fun. Things i didn't like:

1. Base inside is very plain and little-no detail. Its quite boring

2. The should be some water under that bridge

other then that it was fine.
Remove the rain.

respect is given to those that form their own opinions

I think it's cool you're making it, but something doesn't seem right, i think it's the colors, too dreary, the terrain/sky/base textures -- base models look too stumpy too but maybe they're accurate and im just used to 120 fov or something. Also remove the rain like val said and for the love of god don't put water under the bridge Don't mean for my post to be toally critical it looks good, keep it up

Catch 22
#22
water under bridge - tried it, it sucked.

rain - set for high detail systems only. it was called raindance for a reason remember... why remove it.

edit:
for the rest of it...
bases were always pretty dreary if i remember correctly.
base models and such were made stumpy due to the physics of T:V. the jetting and such are alot different compared to T1/T2 so we had to adapt for that, but give it a go and see how it feels. the play is the most important thing.

haven't tried it yet but in the screenshot the flagstand looks awful big (wide).

I was going to put water under the bridge. Actually, that was the idea that really inspired me to make the map cuz i thot it would be so leet, but it turned out to look like crap and scoff up gameplay.

You don't hop in T:V, so you need to actually JET over the lip. Making it smaller would make that even harder, therefore lame

just opened up both T1 and T2, and the flagstand has very close to the same feel as both of them.
This map is up and in rotation on MoFo's Casa de Putas.

I think its time that the blood eagle and diamond sword base architects put up a "block newbie HO from skiing in the front door and camping the base all day" shield infront of the main base entry way. Now, I don't mean one of the energy shields, but just like a big flat block or something that they have to walk around. I think it might be a good idea.

Or maybe I am retarded...

edit: map looks great tho

Okay, fine. Don't remove it. We're all idiots/newbies here anyway... why listen to us in the first place.

u say fuck everyone that doesnt speak for themselves, yet u like to talk for an awful lot of ppl
make the flag tower higher

the proportions are all messed up
I'm hoping its a larger scale than the original, which it looks like it is.
Looks very nice anyhoo.

THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS!!!
add water to the front of the base and remove the stupid jump pads
how about some trees since u can have actually decent lookin ones in this game w/out killin ur fps. put them right smack in the center of the most over used route too.

agree to the jumppads. Disagree to the water. In T:V water can be just as much of a jump pad.

I also agree on the block for heavies. HO'ing, I agree, is a bit too easy in T:V.
well thats just it. they are similar, but water takes a little more skill. then again, jumppads can be destroyed while water cant.

it would also make it akward (which is good, makes it more difficult) if it was in the area right in front of the base, so if u hit it funny on the way in, it will send u flying into the wall.

puddles everywhere would rock because it fits into the theme of the map and a new component of t:v. dont be scared!
u'd have to add a dip to the entrance tho, like the original, then just fill it up with a couple feet of water. it just makes sense damnit.
