Headset Recomendations

Yea, I Know. Off Topic.. But, Not really as the only game I play is TV so the new headset will be an official Tribes Vengeance Headset
Plus all the people I trust with an answer are here..

So, my headset crapped out on me. It is a Plantronics Audio90's that I have been using for the past couple of years.. I want to upgrade, But stay under a $100.

My main concern is ear comfort, as we all know tribes play tends to last for hours. Second is sound quality. Third would be price.

These are the 3 I am looking at.

This is the one I am most leaning towards. mainly because it looks very comfy and Altec Lansing has always been top of the line speakerwise.. So I would expect better sound quality and its the best price to boot..

This is #2
Again looks comfy.. has the USB connect with the "built in Sound card". But slightly more expensive.. And Its Plantronics. Nothing really wrong with that except its what I have now.

#3 is name wise , probably the best of the three. But much more expensive. Is it that much better to justify the double in price over the Altec Lansing ?

I could get it here for less.. But I really trust Newegg and am leary of ordering elsewhere.

So, Help a fella out and give me your views. I am especially intrested if you own one of the above and can give a review on comfyness and quality for the price..

Thanks in advance.. J.
Sennheiser PC-150 (~$45)

actually, i'd much more highly recommend getting the Sennheiser HD-280 Pro (can usually be found for ~$80 online, search with http://www.froogle.com) headphones and then buying the optional mic attachment. those will SMOKE everything else out there anywhere near this price range and be 1000x more comfy too.

this should put you right around $100 and will easily be the best "headset" you can buy.

sennheiser HD 150's on the cheap (awesome sound for a cheap set)

around the $100 range I'd get the Grado SR-80's and a boom mic ;P (then again to most people they aren't all that comfortable until you replace the earpads, so you'd probably prefer the 280 Pro's)

ps I can assure you e-cost is a reliable retailer. I have ordered from them on multiple occasions and received all my shipments in good time and undamaged.

Just picked up a pair of these to replace my broken plantronics headset and I'm extremely happy with them. I got them from ecost and they were like 35 there.
I'm currently using this microphone -

Sits on my keyboard over the num/caps/scroll lock LED's.

Got tired of crappy headsets when I own a pair of HD-595's.

The sound isn't great, but I'm not listening to myself talk so And you'll have to bump the recording volume up a bit since it isn't right in front of your face. But it works, and it's only $7.

I wore out 2 pairs of 580's, loved those headphones.
Thanks Guys!! Just ordered a pair of the Sennhieser 150's
http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=265386

at that price + free shipping it's about half of what I was gonna spend on the altec lansings..

Both of them developed this intermittent problem where one channel would drop out. Has to do with the spring connector that the headphone cable plugs in. Fixing them meant taking them apart and compressing/stretching the spring. Very delicate work, you'd be amazed at how fragile the innards of those 580's are. I got tired of fixing them once a week.

Scroll down to the pics to see the fix -
