My conclusion on TV

I played the beta, and purchased the game when it came out, and uninstalled it a week later. It just felt like too much work.

I tried other games.

A few days ago i reinstalled it because nothing seemed to hold my attention for more than a few days. After giving it an honest fair shake, again, I'd have to say its the best/only thing out there after being spoiled by T2. Playing several different positions seems to help as well.

The game definitely needs better maps, improvements, and hopefully modding...but with that said, even without those things, its still the best thing around i can find.

To use an old Dennis Miller phrase:
"Its alot like being valedictorian in summer school."

With the upcoming patch and hopefully a near future competition mod, i think we can eek at least a year out of the game.

I still dont know that i can put as much time and effort into it as i did for T2 though.

If it is then I can see myself putting a lot of time into TV when I start playing again.

tis a good game, but playing T1 lately alot more really brings out the changes that need to be made.

Yep, people said the same thing about the Classic Patch for T2 but within two months of the Classic Patch coming out the number of players in T2 dropped by HALF.

A patch for T:V will do absolutely NOTHING to revive the game.

If you are silly enough to think it will then each of you send me $50.

But he's right you know, a patch probably isn't going to make everyone magically play again :/

Its a step in the right direction. Doing something to help is MUCH better than doing nothing.

At least the patch will likely keep players around longer, make comp more enjoyable, and make the game better for those that get it during xmis or will get it in the future.
