There should be an ALL-STARS match

2 Guys from each of the top ten teams. That would f'in rock. I can already hear the "Shitcast" for it. Someone get this match setup sometime before UT2K3.

Actually I was thinking of holding a 3 on 3 ctf tourney.
Would anyone play?

why dont u do what http://www.jumpingmens.com is doing and make a random tourny with a pool of players. either 3v3 or 4v4. This separates DSbr so matt and lgn dont just team up and rape the whole thing etc. Zeph could just take signups and create random teams trying to separate clan members etc. This also should allow everyone to play not just top 10 ranked, it is also good for the community as some non-dsbr will play with dsbr and we will play with non-dsbr. IT WILL BRING US CLOSER LIKE A FAMILY WAH

i dont even play jk2 ever and i would just because it'd be cool to play with different people. i wouldnt go with captains because that segregates people, have the team u picked choose who they want to represent them or something. plus how are u gonna choose captains? toss a poll up or something to see who would get involved. like i said i dont play jk2 at all but itd be cool to compete like this and i would play if it happened

Yes

But there is still the server issue, which I don't want to get into. IF there is a tourney, each team will be responsible for locating a server and playing on it. I don't want to do a clan tourney either, because we have the ladder for that. This tourney, if it ever happens, would probably similar to the jk2x2 where you can create a team separate from the other ladders, and have anyone join it.

The problem with this is that some people would create an 'all star team' so to speak, which would totally destroy any competition that might have happened. On the other hand, if we limit the team size, we'd see some interesting fights.

Thoughts?

Allowing us to make our own teams, even 3v3 will be buffeh, matt, and logan(i.e. DSbr win). I guess there shouldnt be rules in place to limit DSbr but possibly to limit the "all star" thing. And there only competition will be other DSbr made teams.

Why don't we all just quit the ladder now?

im dsbr and i agree totally, lets see how this tourney can do and i bet it will be fun for all involved.

We could just put names into a hat and pull names for teams. That way we would have interesting matchups.

zeph i am in dsbr as u know. all i was trying to do was make it a little more fair. u said urself we have ladder for clan play. and nobody as of yet has even given us a match.

So we should allow people to create their own teams ala the jk2x2. I'd say limit the team size to 6.

Let me know. I kinda like this tourney idea. But 2v2 is small on CTF right? Even 3v3 is small. Shouldn't it be simliar to the strats in the normal 5 man ladder?

Well we have the ladder for 5 man and 4man is still pretty much the same.

No, you can't run ++ and base at the same time, if that is what you were asking.

Yeah.. our tribes2 server ran tricon and it allowed for mutliple mods.. but it would reload the server.. Wasnt sure if that was possible with JK2++ just turning off all the enhancements but leaving the admin functions. This would be cool because then we could add the admin functions to our normal base server. I would rather do that then give our teammates rcon access. The admin is much more limited and to the point. Where as rcon is access to everything. I might end up looking for a mod that does just the admin'n portion. Is there any approved mods for the jk2 ladder like tricon was for tribes2?

Ok this isn't gonna be a TWL tourney, it will be an official JBF launch tourney. I don't think TWL cares about jk2, it would take a lot of their time creating it. If we do this through JBF, we can do it exactly how we want it.

It will be a 16 team, 3-man ctf tournament.

Captains will log into their JBF forum accounts and sign up as a captain for one of the 16 slots. All others with use their forum accounts to sign up in the player pool. Then, after sign-ups are closed, captains with choose players from the pool. Captain sign ups will be first come, first serve so if you want to get your picks in early, you'd best sign up early.

Hopefully we can get this ready for the JBF launch.
