Tricon 2 v300 Now Mandatory

It is now mandatory that all match servers running Tricon upgrade to Tricon v300 or later. You have until 6/1/02 to get your server updated to the latest version. If you do not upgrade your server your server is not considered legal for match play unless your opponent agrees to use it.

good call kodiak. tricon 300 is definately a good server admin program.

And to clarify this does not mean you HAVE to run tricon, just if you do it needs to be upgraded to v300..

Hmm I'm all for it other than the fact you can't use targeting beacons in this version currentely.

whew. i thought it was just me Refund. ive been doing all kinds of things to get them to work, but haven't had any success. i never thought for a second that it was tricon. now that i think about it, ive been unable to use them since about the time i installed tricon 300. could be a coincidence.

yeah thats no good .. half the HO in ren need those targeting beacons to hit anything usefull

Ver 3 blows. I'm still trying to figure out why it has to be mandatory when all it has is added "fun stuff" and a nice little pretty "gui".

I'm not sure what to blame it on but after putting v3 on the AFO server it's having to have a major overhaul.

i believe the reason TWL wants ver.300 is because of its ability to not allow people to telnet into the server while the server is in tournament mode(matches). i feel that is a great feature.

i also had to do a major overhaul to get it to work on my server. i followed the upgrade instructions completely, but found it still would not work to my liking. i had to do a full reinistall of T2. except for the targeting beacon thingy, i no longer have any complaints about it.

I followed the directions carefully, and had no issues whatsoever. :-/

I did try to put some of the old 292 version "fun stuff" on there and things got all whacked to hell, but other than that no problemo.

To upgrade to a v300 server is as simple as deleting all NON RENEGADES DSOs, and overwriting the old Tricon files with the new ones. If you guys do not know if you delete ALL DSOs on a Renegades server the Renegades server will no longer run. Renegades is packaged in DSO format and to delete ALL DSOs you trash your Renegades install.

On a side note I have talked to Qing about the beacon issue with Renegades and I am making a new post in a minute about whats going on with it.. please look for new thread..

I posted when I was pissed. AFO is up now. Haven't got any feedback from Strydr as to how it's doing but I tested it and it's fine. I'll take off the expansion pack since with my luck I'll edit the beacon fix to grow a dick out of the ground when you deploy one. ROFL
