I WAS THINKING, TO MAKE PUBS MORE COMPETITIVE, WE SHOULD START COUNTING KILLS AND POINTS FOR DEFENSE. THAT WAY MORE PEOPLE WOULD WANT TO PLAY DEFENSE AND IT WON'T TURN INTO A RAPE FEST. ALSO FOR CLANS, IT WOULD BE EASIER TO FIND DEFENSIVE PLAYERS. IN PUBS IS ALWAYS ABOUT WHO HAS THE MOST POINTS, THATS WHY MOST OF US PLAY OFFENSE.
JUST A THOUGHT.
GRRR Caps Lock.

As a defense person I totally agree. I've had tons of turret kills an nothing to show for it except my flag still standing. Hmm

Oh man, but at PU's if you have a good defense, your points just rack up like no tomorrow. (Sometimes) --- but yeah, this is a good idea to help people motivate themselves to do defense.

But the points can't be too high because then the noobs will think "Well, I can just get as many point by just throwing up defense and making the enemies come to me, so why waste energy on trying to offense."
Actually, to have a strong offense you need a strong defense, thats common sense! and i thought kills and points dont matter? i guess n00bs think so sicn ethey have no other reason for playing triebs 2 but i dont know, turrent kills are weak! maybe instead start supporting defense players? kinda give n00bs the feel for defense?
just my imput!

When T2 first came out it used to give allot of points to D ppl. And it stopped when they changed the way the scoring goes. i think it used to be no points for a flag grab and only 1 point for a cap? been so long ago now. and the D guys where always at the top of the scoreing list.If I am not mistaken I belive it gave you a point for every turret kill? Cause I remmeber everyone wanting to place turrets to get the kills and ppl destroying other ppl's stuff to deploy there own it was a mess then I am not sure about the way it use to score you but I do remmeber they changed the way the game is scored. Cause I remeber the ppl that bitched in the forums about it. This was before Ren was out for T2.
i think the main part of being a good defenseive player is not caring so much about points, im pretty good at d myself, points arent a big deal to me, but it is very rewarding to see myself at the top of the list when im on D hehe
POINTS DO MATTER

Ono! Pimp si bringing teh lubbles

kaiser veeryone knmows having the high score is important, Remember when the aether was counting stats. people wspent days playing just to get that number 1 spot. =0
Increasing the point system is not supposed to help us but the noobs who think that they get nothing from defending, "so why should they?" As they would probably say-- but MILF did point something out, pretty soon there will be chaos if the points go too high, everyone is just going to destroy each others turrets so they can get the points.

And also what I included above, as in there will be a sudden shift from lots of O, to lots of D.
i wouldnt want a nOOb deploying D if they didnt know wtf they were doing.....

^^ agreed, thats the funny thing about D, its hella tough, it takes a complete different view of the game to be good at =P
But it's a pub game, give them a break. If it was a match, then that is a different story. But do you really care how your defense is layed out in a pub? Generalization, sometimes you do, most of the time you don't.
as a defensive person... yes i do =P it bothers me seen someone set lasers on wierd ass angles and stuff, and if im setting d, dont use my shit, im a jerk when it comes down to it, if someone starts moving all my stuff, i just say screw it, and go O =P

Kaiser do what i do. Get a inven at start. Go out of bounds. and deploy everything you have. That way your team will have to actually defend. And not rely on turrets to do the work. It rocks.,
^^ lol theres an idea =P

i think my favorite thing is the "quietness" of d, people dont really know how good you are, i like being underestimated, and my lack of points only helps that =)
hell no one knew who i was or what i did for a while =P

Kaiser we don't underestimate you. We just think you are worthless in a fire fight. =0

yes it does because it is gh3y when as soon as you get into ur base a Borg vulcans u before you can say Shazbot! Your oneof the Borgs so why do you care

----------------------------

I am usually all D in Pubs. Unless I know that another good borg is on my team and then I will bump up to HO and own the enemy base with him. But usually on all maps I am D/Deplyer/Engi and sometimes I like to HD..

You do have to admitt Tyson has got a point..The points I anm not sure on I as I said I remmember when T2 first came out. If you think about it.Most n00bs, Hate to set D or think about the srat that goes behind it, Hell they probably do not even know there is a srtat.. And yes there is a srat. I do not have to tell D ppl there is. I would love to see more Good D ppl instead of O ppl, on a pub.
I do enjoy playing all armors. It just matters what I feel like doing at the time. I can old my own setting D. And I am quick at it,but I do not do it as much as other things. I can almost keep ppl out as long as the teams are Equal. But if they are unbalnced it sux to set D and repair the gens and stations. Damn those base rapers and O snipers. Kudos to the D ppl that do take the time to be good. I would love to see more of them.
