This went from team play to lets see how many aliens we can get on 1 team, now that they are compleatly cloaked everyone and there mama is a alien.

Aticus, I mentioned the same problem in my example from the "Analysing Ren" thread. The swing has gone from a worst-case scenario of heavy-stacking teams in a pub to alien-stacking teams in a pub.

I'm not sure which one I hate worse, but with heavies I at least know which direction to shoot in.

I've yet to find a n00b in an alien armor that can effectively take me out..

The newbie aliens are much easier to spot - they use jets WAAAY too much and don't try to avoid sensors. It's the experienced guys combined with the newbs that gave me headaches.

Kill 1 rookie, think you're safe, then take a shock in the back from the vet waiting behind him while you're still reloading!

When the base is raped, its pretty hard. If not, then sensors and cameras are the order of the day.

Aliens, like wraiths are bright white to me if they jump into the sky line. NP seeing and killin' em. Yeah the new alien is going to HURT in competition (not as much as blaster would).

i really have not had a problem with the aliens. use no music in the game and i listen for the shocklance and i dont stop moving. I also keep track of theplayers around me and if i see one dy of a sl i will hunt the alien down. I also will sacrafice health to run into a alien if i am traking it to spook him to boost move.

I was playing one of the classic maps on Aether this morning, which turned into a heavy/alien rapefest!

What happened was that we had some D, then a heavy busted through and took out the gens. That was followed by a never-ending wave of heavies and aliens....all through to the end of the map. Most of the folks on our side were in spawn, so we had the blaster against the heavies, but the 6 aliens in our base would shock people dead right in front of you.

One time I saw two newbs get shocklanced in the same room at practically the same time in front of me...so I disced the area and ran away like a little girl. Hehe.

Anyhow, the only way I managed to see an alien was if they used their jet (which in that map told me they were new players), killed a player, or lost their beacon. Without gens, there was no way to deploy.

Of course, in the 3 seconds when gens and INVs were up, anything that got deployed on the walls was killed when the newbs starting throwing discs, grendades and blasters everywhere in the hopes of killing the aliens....it was actually kind of amusing.

Bah - maybe it will get better.

i say we use the old cloaking textures, just make them serverside like CS did for a while that way u can't mess with them.
