Well i dont know if anyone has noticed, i hope they have, that there isn't any time limit to accept challenges, its been a week i believe since my team has challenged WG and nothing has progressed, soo.....
48 hours...

example... Team A challenged team B... if Team B does not accept within 48 hours the match gets flagged for forfeit by an admin ( all forfeits are done by hand here)

Team A challenges Team B... Team B accepts the challenge and porposed dates to Team A... if team A does not confrim a date within 48 hours the match is flagged for forfeit...

that is how the system works...

nope... we handle things personally here... this allows for us to handle each situation on an individual basis... i cant tell you how many times ive gone to issue a forfeit only to have both parties posting novels in match comms trying to get things done... it is very common for a person to forget to accept/confirm a date when they are having a conversation with someone in match comms... the acceptance/confirmation kind of takes second chair to working out the details in cases such as this...

This allows us admins to get a unique perspective on what is going done and allows us to see if any attempt is made by one party or both...

can a machine show compassion? i dont think so...

I agree forfiets should be done by the admins except in the case where the other team doesn't accept the challenge. I don't care if their computer turned and bit their arm off if you don't accept the challenge in the alloted time you don't accept the challenge. Not much to argue on. When it comes to matches there are all kinds of things that can happen and be brought up personally to an admin.

didnt i just say this? lol... but yeah people post in match comms all the time and we admins check a lot of match comms... the hardest part about forfeits is that there are generally so many even logging into the site several times a day there are ALWAYS at least 1 or 2 matches to check and issue forfeits... if you guys are having problems with a match that is taking too long to be forfeited... and by too long i mean 36 to 48 hours extra hop on IRC and let an admin know... we have lives too guys so we cant always handle things immediately...

Agreed. The accepting should be auto-forfeited. Makes for less hassle. I keep several captains on the team to check for challenges and what not. Just because 1 player can't accept it someone else should be able.
Accepting the challenge should not be auto-forfeited.

My opponent selected two days when I had to be at work. I have tried rescheduling on several occasions, and I never get a response when I add a match communication or e-mail him/her. I should not have to forfeit becaause this person is nt willing to reschedule the match. I am the one putting in the effort to make this happen.

I think the challenger should be allowed to pick a date as well.
Yes, You should? You should be talking to admins before at least 48 hours past an acception date. So hence it would be frozen. Saving people who actually are active time and a headache. Why dispute over challenging someone? So they can make bogus lies about having their inactive captains around?
If you have a problem with the times given then just accept it and work it out afterwards, that is where the admins can come in and work with boths teams if need be. A team shouldn't be penalized and have to wait if another team doesn't accept in 48 hours. They should be free to make their next challenge.

I know this isn't PG but some things PG did worked well and auto forfeits on accepting challenges was one of them.

you seem very contradictory... why should i have to penalize a team that doesnt want to accept a match yet so they can work things out? if a team doesnt accept a challenge within 48 hours and makes no posts as to what is going on of course they are given the forfeit... but if i read a post saying CAN WE PLEASE GET A BETTER TIME I HAVE HAD SOME REAL LIFE THINGS COME UP... i am not going to be a dick and forfeit taht person/team... that isnt fair in the slightest
My main view is on when you challenge a team. Before any dates are determined. If that team isn't paying attention as to who challenges them, they lose their spot. That's my only concerns about auto-forfeits. =x
well if someone isnt paying attention... as in the havent made any posts in match comms... then they are forfeited and do lose their spot... they generally will drop 10 rungs... but doing things by hand means that people can have luck on their side...

example: someone is challenges at 5pm on a friday and are at work and then go home and immediately turn around to leaven to go out of town for the weekend and will not return till 5:30 pm on sunday... technically their 48 hours are up... but is it fair for an automatic system to forfeit a person for having a real life? doesnt it seem better that they can get online at 6pm after a long drive or something and accept or confirm a challenge?

by doing the forfeits by hand it allows a person a little more time in some situations... sometimes an admin will catch a match once it is 1 minute overdue or sometimes 1 day overdue...by doing it this way people who have real lives and cant check this site everyday... but even so they still get to play their matches and have a good time...

make sense?

Well, as TankD will tell you, it's not always about paying attention. For some reason, I didn't get one blessed e-mail from TWL ever about challenges. I just recently changed e-mail addys and still aren't getting any.

Yeah I haven't gotten any emails either.

Yeah I'm not getting any emails either
depending on what program you use... a lot of TWL mail goes into your SPAM folder if you use HOTMAIL and Yahoo and that sort of stuff...
