"Teams reaching the playoffs will pick 1 map off the (playoff map list) and must write in match comms at least 1 hour (TWL time)before match time which map they have picked"

This means we only will know the map 1hour before the match? How can we scrim ?

"Maps for the finals will be announced 2 hours before start, on the EU League Forum and on irc. (#twl_aa), but one thing is for sure, 2 maps will be played."

This mean we will not know the maps before the game day? So teams can scrim.. ?
For instance if an admin team make finals, they will know the map much earlier then others ?

Only home team server will be used on Regular Season? If they want to ?

Its a competitive league isnt suposed to the clans can scrim for maps, and well we are talking about the most important games, like playoffs and final. They didnt said was a surprise maps tournament. I think clans want to scrim and play they better to win, and that involve scrimming, imho.

Only 4(5?) people know the last maps, the 3 EU League admins and the EU CM (eXplicit), and due to the NDA they can not give out this information to even their clan.

So don't worry about it.

Then, concerning the "regular play off maps", yes you can only scrim your own map as you don't know the opposing teams map, however you have evidently the map list in the rules which means you know which maps might be played.
If you follow carefully you will know what team has picked which map and what maps they have left to pick from; as you can only pick a map once.

In first round playoffs , a team need to scrim there map, and other 7 or 8 maps trying to some how find opforce map ?

well it depends, they if they want to be top notch and ready they should be able to play any of the maps proposed. Otherwise they will just have to "deal with it".

Each teams has more or less a couple of basic tactics for each map, if not they might want to go and check out each map they do not know.

But let's face it, the teams that will reach play off are usually teams that have been trying this before and can compete on any map...no?

The point of not releasing the maps is to see how teams handle the matches without needing to scrim. This, in our eyes, shows the true skill of the teamwork involved.

might be a stupid question but what is when both teams pick the same map? or is the map which the home team can pick first, not available then anymore?

dont take my word for it, but think the question was answered in another thread, and u will play the same map twice. I might have smoked to much to remember correctly

2 Teams that pick the same map in playoff, means you will play the maps twice.

i dont think knowing the finals map 2 hours befor the match starts is any good for the teams playing in the finals^^

ok, new question: if a team does not pick the map 1hr before match start, than the other team gets to pick it instead. so, how will the other team know which maps are available from the opponents bucket?

can you please give more details about this process?

What if the team of an admin who knows the final maps has to play in the final? Do you think they won't tell?

They dont need to know! Because they get a free pick. You can pick a map from the playoff list without it counts, so you get the advantage and can pick a map your team is strong on.

I won't be playing in the final and neither am I part of any team which could get in to the final so you don't need to worry about the possibility that admin team might know the maps before than non admin teams.

no but if opponent doesnt pick a map in time, then you cna pick any map on the maplist, so if you want you can pick map that u picked last round : )
