Pre-Season?

Hi all,

First, i would like to thank TWL-admins for keeping our game alive through comps like this.

But since i am new to TWL Tourny's, I got a question.

What is PreSeason? And will that preseason match have an effect on the ranking, or is it just a match to open the tournament with no effect on the ranking?

Hey Mr.Th!ef,

You gave the answer more or less yourself.
A pre-season match is a match that will be played before the regular season starts and serves 2 main purposes.
1) It is a good way to filter out the inactive teams.
2) It is a good way to test a new potential match map.

Last but not least, it has not effect on your ranking. (in other words, it does not matter if you win or lose, just line-up 4 players)

Thanx For the info Gizmo, and so quick.
But in this case... (fall tournament), we just have to line up 5 people.. play, and it doesn't matter if we win or not.

That is what i needed to know, because my team is running out on time (lots of players are going on holiday, .. so we could focus our training more to the maps that do count.

Pre-season is, for the most part, just for fun. Don't put too much effort into it, but make sure you show up - a no show would result in your removal.

Thanx for the heads up. We'll play, but if it doesn't count, we'll put more effort in other maps who do count (just like most of the teams will).

I just don't understand why are we playing sf water treatment as the pre-season map. It has been played before in pre-season and due to the random spawns most of the guys say it isn't a match map (which I disagree).

I guess someone wants to give it an other go

The idea is to know what people think about it now, it has been used before yes, but it seems the opinions on map are ever changing.
