you chose your own maps.. read the rules ;-)
what i dont understand is why urban suddenly is in the playoffs when the current league-rules are stating following:

Playoff Format:
Each play off round will be a best of 12 match using regular season maps and rules. If after 12 rounds there is a tie, teams will play a sudden death overtime round on Mout McKenna to determine the winner.

...

The maps will be chosen from the season map list but will not include Urban Assault.

It literally says there won't be Urban Assault (it also was NOT a regular season maplist)... so what was the reason to act against this rule? There are many other maps which could have been picked and are good playoff-final-maps.

this actually came up. my problem with mout is that is seems to be overplayed in the playoffs. i consider mout and ua very similar in playability
Urban FTW
there is nothing wrong with UA... it's a very balanced map...

JC, the rules have been like this since the start of the league, you lived in a cave, too late to complain.
(it's a joke people, don't jump down my throat)
You still can just switch to sandstorm, insurgent camp, mout or pipeline (remaining regular season cqb maps). Or you take any outdoor map... plenty of good ones available :-D
JC if by some random act of god we made it to the finals and Urban wasn't the map, I think I would cry. Please leave 12oz the small glimmer of hope that we might someday play a league match on Urban.

It says playoffs and nothing about the finals. Hence its the finals map and not a playoff map

The finals are considered a part of the playoffs in every playoff situation I have ever heard of...

you are not trying to tell me that finals dont belong to playoffs, are you?
I guess I have never thought of any finals as being part of the playoffs, the playoffs are part of Post Season Play IMO, and the Finals are another part of the Post Season Play. If you look at any sports the Finals are the Finals, baseball its called the Word Series, basketball its the NBA Finals, Football its the Super Bowl, all games before the finals are and are to determine who goes to the finals.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playoff

"A playoff in sports (North American professional sports in particular) is a game or series of games played after the regular season is over with the goal of determining a league champion. The championship of a league may be determined by as few as a single playoff between two teams, or by an elimination tournament involving several teams."

So playoffs determine champion, not who plays finals. In other words the finals are a part of the playoffs.

The difference with "Playoffs" and "Post Season Play" then is that "Post Season Play" includes the playoffs as well as any matches/tournaments played to determine who gets knocked down to a lower level of competition (a system for instance used in football (or for Americans: soccer))

I don't think you understand it. It's not about the map UA, it is a great map both for pubbing as for matches, but the fact that you only have to practise your own favourite map from the season and UA to have a chance in the play-offs is a strange concept in my opinion. It is still way better then the old concept but I think that 2 sets, both teams chose a map and win 9 rounds overall to win the whole match is a better solution.
