Gamers Against EA

In the gaming industry, you’ve got two paths to choose from if you want to be successful: 1) Make kick ass games and listen to the gamers who play them on how to improve your product; or 2) Make a butt-load of games (kicking occasional ass here and there) and ignore your target audience, but offset your losses by signing contracts with professional sports teams and the companies that sponsor them so you can continue to spit out “upgraded” versions of the same played out sports titles infinitum ad nauseum.

At http://www.gamersagainsteagames.com, we have no doubts that Electronic Arts has taken the second route and we believe that, with your help, we can be the voice that sets them back on track.

Why are we doing this? Well, for starters, we want to know how EA can possibly justify working their employees’ fingers to the bone and still turn out a consummate let-down of a game like Pacific Assault? And then – THEN! – after releasing the game late (knowing how many bugs it still had) what do they do? They release a new map in the hopes that will take our minds off the sixty bucks we all wasted buying the Director’s Edition. Yeah, forget the patch ... we wanna play a different level of the same shitty, bug-laden, resource-hogging game. Please. If they’re gonna turn out sub-par programming, they should have the common decency to get their constituents a patch early. Or at least give those who were raped a reach-around. One small example of the plethora of reasons EA needs to have their heads removed from their collective asses.

So, if you’re tired of being ignored by Electronic Arts and constantly being disappointed by their shoddy craftsmanship, register with http://www.gamersagainsteagames.com and unburden your soul. There is strength in numbers, ladies and gentlemen, and we need your help to bring about change.
Are you related to PennyWise by any chance?

I must admit, I concede. I will allow these posts in TWL MOHPA.

HOWEVER...

Since you decided to post this before I said it was OK you will have a 2 week forum ban.

just kidding.

who stole spaz's account? but seriously, good luck.... EA has a whole workforce dedicated to finding the widest profit margin. they obviously decided they can make the most money by making lots of crappy games. they don't listen to public outcry, they listen to their accountants
In the end the pocketbook will previal. If you don't want to support EAGames simply don't by their games. Petitions, protests etc will be ignored in the face of the almighty dollar.
I'm not going to argue your points, but I will make the case that with MOHPA, EA made an effort to include the community in the development and incorporated some of their ideas into the final product.

This is evident through the creation of the MOHTeam. The MOHTeam took ideas collected from the community and presented them to EA, with most of these ideas finding their way into the game. One example of this was the M1 Garand, which was initially not part of PA since it was not widely used in the Pacific theater. However the community requested it be added and so it was.

True they had the MOHTeam but they also had the MOHarmy which I still dont see the whole point on that group, which i was on. I think the MOHarmy was a marketing strategy people thought we would of at least test a demo out before public release or at lease find out something participating on it. They also completly stopped responding to people's posts on the MOHArmy forum.

I am curious does the MOHTeams beta the game at all? or who do they have beta test their games.

Same here, As a member of the MOHarmy I thought we would have more input into the game including being able to test a beta version so they could take our input into account before releasing the game.

While Pa is definitely not all that I hoped it would be, I have found the mp part to be fun when conditions are good(Low server ping, good players, ect)

I have high hopes for the second patch and hope EA wont give the MOH community the shaft again.

As horrible as this sounds, EA does need to move on to other projects. They released a game, put in on shelves, and patched it twice. Remember, once you buy the game it is free to play, this is not Everquest or another MMORPG. They have no vested interest in making this game better, after all they already have your money, and mine.

EA has made a ton of successful games, and they will continue to do so. Their sports games are a large success, and that is really their main money maker. The MoH franchise was extremely successful in console and PC format. But remember, console games do not get patches, thereby they do not require support.

I just laugh it off and wish I had the ability to make bad games, and make tons of money. But what is funny, no one will learn from this episode. As soon as another MoH comes out, everyone will run out and get it right away, complain about the bugs, and say how EA doesnt support anything thereby repeating the cycle. If you had any issues with the lack of support from EA, you should have not bought another EA game after MOH:AA.

Let see. I had Battlefield '42, Nam, AA, SH and Breakthrough before $plurging on Pacific A$$ault. I had a good time with AA, and Spearhead rocked....
Breakthrough was buggy butnot THAT aweful. The Battlefield series...well I just didn't care for personally - but thats just me.

I really feel I got the major back door shaft with Pacific A$$ault though. Here I was running what I beleived to be a decent computer (P4 2.6 x800fsb. Gig of DDR400 dual and a 5700Ultra Overclocked massively) and the game ran like crapola. With a few upgrades the game actually is playable, but I still have hope that with one big a$$ patch they may fix some of the major problems and teams will pick it up for ladder play.

I guess the biggest disappointment was with how the game was received by the public. Maybe if EA takes the time and really listens to the consumers they can get this game fixed and ready for some fun on the ladders. As for now, PA rests quietly in a drawer.....waiting for a patch and teams to join a ladder.

The real problem is that EA is more than likely putting all resources into Battlefield 2 and this game might never have its due.

I sure would like to see PA pick up, I think it could be a heck of a good time with the right bugs worked out.

I have said this in the past and it related to Breakthrough when it came out. That game came out right before CoD and monetarily so. They new it was a big game because they new it would cut into their sales. The game was issued early to prevent cash losses probably because they had a copy of CoD before issuance.

The game was issued before it was ready hence the subpar gameplay. CoD was huge and still is which called for a big issue of another game to keep up with CoD.

Two questions. Do they know how to develope a new generation game at EA or do they only issue inadequate games for the quick cash results knowing it is not a quality game.

Gamers will take notice at some point and not purchase anymore games from EA in time if this continues. I for one will let the early gamers buy EA games before me on any new releases before I invest in crap again.

The opinions of BigBolo are only opinions. Please let your own dollars help you make your own decisions.
The gist of the website listed is to give a voice of the gamer interested in getting continued support and fixes from EA. The title of the website is an eye catcher to them and not necessarily the negative overtone most decipher it as.

Flaming EA does nothing but have them ignore the site. Yes they want to show the frustration level of the MOH gamer but they also want EA to listen. I hope you realize the difference at articulating your displeasure in a constructive way and destructive way.

Sarcastic note:
It also helps to use the proper words in the proper way. A good message can lose meaning when all your doing is laughing at the way it's posted.
