Greetings CS Players,

Effective August 20, 2003 all players competing in Counter-Strike on TeamWarfare will be required to have their WONID posted in their player profile. The system is now in place to add your ID's. You will need to go to "account maintenance > profile" located under your nick in the upper left corner of teamwarfare.com. Once you get to your profile you will see "Anti-Smurf In Game Identifiers". Click the link entitled "add another id". From there it will take you to another screen where you will select WONID as your In Game Identifier. From there you will enter the relevant value of your WONID. If you play at a lan center you will also need to enter that center as a seperate ID along with your home ID or whatever. If you play at a lan center and the lan center is NOT listed in this lan center list (click here to download and view list) then you will need to contact your Lead CS admin via email to get the center added. In case you don't know your lead admin is Hooked Z and his email address is hookedz@teamwarfare.com. The other admin is HopX and his email address is hopx@teamwarfare.com. Either of these wonderful admins will be able to assist you in getting the lan center added to the list.

Teams will be able to view the entire teams WONID's by going to the teams page and selecting the link at the top of the teams ladder specific roster entitled "View Detailed Roster". That page will list all ID's for that team's ladder roster.

It will also be required that teams designate a certain player preferably all captains and the founder or all players for that matter to take a screenshot of the players WONID's in game before the match starts and if requested the team captain / founder will be required to turn the screenshot over to TeamWarfare Staff. There will be penalties if this is not followed. It will also be teams responsibility to verify WONID's PRIOR to match start. Disputes regarding WONID's AFTER a match has started will be most likely thrown out but will remain up to Staff discretion. Any substitutes brought in without proper WONID or NO WONID will force an immediate forfeit to the team violating the rule.

Lastly, if a player does not have his profile updated to show his WONID he will be ineligible to play and subject to roster removal by Staff until he gets the ID placed.

We hope this increases your enjoyment of matchplay here at TeamWarfare. If you have any question, HookedZ, HopX or myself will be able to assist you. Good Luck to all teams and be ready for addition of Counter-Strike League play coming soon!.

Best Regards,

Janus

Why is it possible for someone to add multiple wonIDs? Shouldn't you be limited to one? Otherwise, that would sort of defeat the purpose of anti-smurfing wouldn't it?
Basically as your doing this now no one can say that someone was ringing (smurfing as you seem to call it) as it was not wonid check it was a simple name check. I think it's a great idea you updating this but obviously you can just give your friend's wonids all under your personal list so if your away they can play as you. Ever think of that?
ok...i know this is for counterstrike, but I noticed there's an option for Tribes2 also. I take it, this is for the 12vs 12 ladders...or larger battles...not the duels?
If so...I'm confused
Oh, here's another suggestion.

Can you put all the WonIDs of the clan onto one page so during matches it isn't necessary to have to manually click on each player to confirm that wonid?

Why yes, I guess that would be.

With date stamping, it isnt defeated, also with our transaction logging, we will be able to tell who is abusing the system.

Some users have multiple installs, so we want to make sure and accomodate them accordingly, and stop the "i was using my other install" excuse.
Right now we are focusing on CS. I can't say what will come of t2

What's the point of WON ID checks anyway?

It allows people to play in matches and verify that no one is ringing. Ringing (for those who don't know) is when you have someone playing for you (ie. your CAL-im buddy or someone who was banned for h4x0ring) under your name. It is a real pain in the ass and (as a previous Provinggrounds CS Team ladder admin) it's harder to enforce than it looks what with LAN centers and all of that.

Janus, can I get my name changed in the Database to reflect my leaving of -[Skylab]-? I would greatly appreciate it!

I figure that's the easiest way. Thank you!
is there a timelimit before a match that someone can add a new wonid? or is there a way to lock them after they have been challeneged?

They shouldn't even be on the ladder until the ID is added. If any one of my admins or me see it we will remove them from the roster and that will disallow them from even playing.
