Counter Strike Ports

Hey I just got counter strike and I can see the servers but I cant get into any of them. Does anybody know if it is ports that I have to open and what ones are they??

I added ports that I got from CS.net, and it still gives me the "Cannot join game" error.....anyone have any suggestions on what I could do..or what could be wrong?

Are you sure you are using CS v1.5?

yeah I DLed it and it still says cannot join to any server. ITs really getting to me.

Make sure you are using the most current Half-life patch (1.1.1.0 I think) and that you install the HL patch before CS.

Alright I did what you said.. I uninstalled CS and I got the Half-Life patch 1.0.1.1 or whatever that one is then I installed it. After that I installed CS and when I tryed to join a server It said Cannot Connect Server is using a differnt protocal. So I got the CS patch 1.5 Full and I installed that. Then I Tryed to join a server and I got the same protocal error that i had when I didnt have the patch. Then I have Oppsoing Force Online on my destop and I tryed to play it that way. I click on the server and It went to the Connecting screen. Gave me a Could not connect to the server: Tryed 4 times or something. So I dont know what to do somebody told me to open ports and I did that...nothing. I really getting mad. Thanx for your help and I hope that somebody knows whats wrong.

Try it with your firewall disabled.

Call your ISP and tell them to stop blocking your goddamn ports.

Router and I dont have a firewall... I opened the nesacray ports but still no luck

Check to make sure your router doesn't block some non-default ports.
