Pings...

Well, i just posted this in another thread, but thought it deserved its own.

This being something i'm sure 75% of the Tournament population are trying to find a "solution".

Here's what i posted.

Since we are on the subject.....

If team A plays Team B.

Team A averages 50-60ms

Team B averages 100-130ms

Isn't that a little "unfair"? I mean, i'm not one to whine about ping issues, but since this is a big event, and it is for fun, but there are still things at stake, wouldn't a centralized server, where both teams ping equally.. if not near it ?

Just my thoughts. Say, this is the case for the match DoH plays tomorrow night, already having a server set up with the TWL rules, could it be possible, (if both teams agree) to play the match on that server aslong as admins are aware and they do agree?

Just some food for thought.

Good luck tomorrow/today

Thanks
so your saying that a difference of 50ms... less than a tenth of a second.... is going to be the deciding factor?

people please. nothing can be perfect.

I agree with what Gods Fury said. This is the biggest event in TWL history. We all want a fair playing field thats all

Good luck tomorrow/today

I"m not saying its the deciding factor, as you can see in the other post i've replied too, i thank TWL-hosting for what they are doing, and i know that they cannot please everyone, so we the players have to settle with thats given to us.

I'm not whining here i'm just trying to prove a little point, one i'm sure you are already aware of from a players stand point.

Say you are used to a 40-50ms, playing in servers with a ping thats constantly 40-50. And for a match, you play in a server with a 120-150ms. There is a difference, much more then you beleive. You can easily get used to it, but if your opponent is quick and smart, you can bet that tenth of a second... he'll use it against you. And i am not jokeing.

I've played with a 40-50ms against a great player who had a 120ms, and i was just able to out play him. Then we switched that around, and he out played me.

But, thanks to the netcode and the way this MP game works, the ping difference isn't as bad as it could have been.

Please don't think i'm doing everything to get into another server, i am NOT, i am just trying to prove a point or two.

THanks again.
Empty or full my ping doesn't vary on these servers. AT best 10ms.
