heh, sweet. good thing i looked at this, i wasnt even going to bother cuz i thought this week was still preseason
Any updates with rules re: voting on LL etc...?
Effective next tuesday leftleaning will be illegal, and the bash round will no longer exist. Look for more explanation and details in the official post that will come shortly.

edit: by next tuesday, I mean week 3. And "effective" is only valid provided the offical post has been posted stating the week and all the info.

This applies to the Gamma League ONLY

thx Dr D
that's nice and all, but two weeks into the season is just BS...I hate CAL but to take this long to make up your damn mind and then change a rule, it sounds like someone needs to revamp their staff and get some people willing to make changes rather than mill around about them...

-from a concerned TWL gamer
I'm with soulja on this. Changing the rules in the middle of the season is absurd. No matter my opinion on the LL subject, making serious changed during a season is not a good idea. If it was going to be changed, it should have been experimented with during a lengthened preseason to see how it goes and to see how the community likes the change and then have a vote during a bye week before the season starts.

"OMG that would put us out of rotation with cal" Who cares! There is no excuse for this, but this is just my opinion. The rest of my team and I are going to play as we normally do, hell, i dont even know if what im doing is left leaning or not and i dont care. Im not going to change my playing style in the middle of the season. Noone else should have to worry about it either.

Bottom line is, if you are going to implement such a monumental change in gameplay, it should be done during the offseason so teams have time to prepare for it.
i'm personally against getting rid of the "illegal left lean"
I remember in 1.1 playin a match against texas area untouchables and they disputed me for "glitching" in the cem house on dville. this glitch turned out to be left leaning..... i didn't know i was doing it i was just trying to prefire as i leaned out and hurry up and take cover as to not get shot. i do this both ways right and left leaning its just what i've done since i can remember. but anywhos i guess if your gonna try to do somethin about it i recommend that you get rid of that slow left lean where you gradually work your way back and forth left leaning until you you can see around the corner. when someone does that it is obvious they are trying to use it to there advantage. I personally won't call anyone out that left leans me if this rule is put into effect but i'm sure there some people out there that would beg to differ...
lol!!!!

make it illegal thank you. asap
Preparing for a left lean ban? You can't be serious. Left leaning and shooting is probably the most conscious exploit you can do in a match.

Don't want to call out a team on left leaning, then so be it. The rule will be in effect next week.

heh, whatever. so is this the case for all of twl cod competitions as of tuesday september 6 or just 5v5 sd. it would be insane to ban it in some competitions and not others.
We'll see how gamma handles it. As of tuesday, this is only for CoD 5v5 S&D league.

So let me clarify this for next week when you get 50 demos from teams claiming someone used a left lean glitch.

If I lean to the left in an attempt to get an advantage, whether it be a lean while holding the right strafe, a tap lean where I constantly tap the lean button and fire, or if I simply hold my left lean and strafe left until I can see around a corner?

IF these are all going to be considered exploits, then so be it. Have fun watching demos next Wednesday. I'm with Lynxis on this one. I'm not changing my gaming style in the middle of the season. Leaning around a corner is a part of the game, which is why the lean button is in the game. So holding the button down to see around a corner is NOT an exploit. You want to ban it? Fine, but I'm not changing my gaming style and I doubt many others will either.
The biggest problem i see with this is the grey area. Rules need to be black and white. Either he did it or not. LL is going to be a huge case of grey area.

Why not just make configs with the left lean button mapped illegal.
I realize its impossible to prevent all forms of left lean glitch without ALOT of problems.

We just don't want people to hug a wall and left lean shoot people the entire round.

I think people are getting confused here. There's a big difference between leaning left around a corner and shooting and humping the wall tapping the right strafe key and shooting through the walls corner.

All I know is that leaning left and shooting is cool so long as I don't bounce in and out of the lean while doing so. It's rather obvious when people do that opposed to just leaning and shooting.
And yet not black and white. Since i checked, there are no courses offered by twl that go deeply into the glitch.
and that is the thing here. most people are ok with simply leaning around the corner and firing..but using the right strafe key or even bouncing back and forth are obviously not the ways that the game was meant to be played..it's real to look around the corner and fire a weapon, but I have yet to find a rifle powerfull enough to fire through a wall and still accurately (and effectively) hit a target. For that matter, please clarify what you are calling a glitch. I can give you a demo right now of a player bouncing in and out of view on a left lean, firing at the same time. Some would say it's not an exploit because you can see the guy. I say it's an exploit, but the guy doing it wasn't good enough to do it right. All we want is clarification, black and white. No gray area at all. otherwise, make it all legal just so we can save an argument every time we enter into a match.
