I like rocket, and I know for a fact that I am not alone. I think its good that we have atleast one map that wasnt in regular season...and I think rocket is one of the better maps that was left out of regular season.

You don't know crap about me uki. As a matter of fact, we're putting a good amount of effort into making HQ fun for the entire team- so I'd prefer it if you kept your censorship to yourself. If you don't like what I have to say - don't listen.
There should be a rule if the map wasn't played during the season it shouldnt be played in playoffs.

Your opinion is simply your opinion, but I must state your approach is very close minded and flawed. TWL is community based gaming, everyone's idea is different which is why TWL thrives when it uses the democratic and virtually undebatable approach- and then pulls things like this and looks moronic with an obviously wrong closed decision.

I'm sure someone in the community may agree with you, but I can assure you the majority of those in playoffs feel you're dead wrong.

I have gotten more positive feeback from it than negative feedback, honestly the only negative feedback I am seeing right now is the three people on this board, which is pretty much miniscule to the positive feedback I've received.

I have no issues with Rocket. yes, some of the radios can be a bitch to take down. But that's up to you to come up with a way to do that.

And I personally don't think maps played during the season should be in the playoffs. Variety is good.
ok?
ok!
i definately think there should be some variety in the playoffs. I personally like the mix of new maps and previously played maps for postseason.

I find it hard to believe you would rather play ship than rocket. Your talking about radios that only have one or 2 ways in, ship has just as many of these type of radios but its going to take you 2-3x longer just to walk to the radio, thats assuming you don't get picked just getting out of spawn. And once a team has an altitude advantage its all down hill from there. Rocket has indoors and outdoors situations, there are many entrances/exits, and the map is big but there are enough choices on where to go that you don't have to worry about the other team getting an extra 45 points just to within striking distance of the radio.

A member of last season's Headquarters Championship team. Also having strong input on map selection for playoffs would be Cavi, a member of i rev., an incredibly successful HQ team. But hey if you feel that they're simply not HQ players then that's your very own... truly unique oppinion.

Rest assured the higher-ups know the mentality that is going on behind these decisions. The mentality of allowing players who are very experienced in a certain gametype and allowing their input to shape a map-list seems like a viable idea

The best teams will be able to destroy the interior radios, plain and simple. During the playoffs there is a need for a map (especially in the second round) to essentially ensure that only the teams of the highest quality are getting through. You will have your very own share of 'lucky spawns'.

GL and HF to all teams that remain. To the eliminated teams we hope to see you back next season for an even greater level of HQ competition

You have made the wrong choice choosing rocket- but I don't expect you to admit that- the community see's how you make your decisions, and your reasoning saddens me.

I didn't think I'd come to say this, but I wish I never put in the effort I did to make TWL a better place- for it only takes a few biased and/or inexperienced individuals to undo the months of work I spent trying to turn this exact close minded mentality into a democratic approach.

Do as you will, but understand the community knows what is going on and how you really feel about how 'we the community' feels.

I'm sure someone in the community may agree with you, but I can assure you the majority of those in playoffs feel you're dead wrong.

Unfortunately your argument is fundamentally flawed in that you are attempting to use the community to back you. Your 'assurance' has been clearly disputed in several posts already.

why all the hate? jk we used to hate rocket badly until we worked out some good attack/defend strategies. I love it now. I also like the other map choices so I'm all for it GJ TWL.

Simply stating that choosing rocket is a wrong decision is a bold statement escpecially when it is an unfounded statement.

If you have an oppinion, please by all means, voice your oppinion, but do not speak on behalf of the community when you are but one member. I would also like to know how it comes to be that you are able to pass judgement on my or anyone elses' level of experience or mentality. Unresearched and ill-prepared arguments intersparsed with self-promotion are generally not well accepted nor respected.

We will always value and give the community what it wants as best we can. Unfortunately sometimes the community is divided and we must side with the majority (because we are democratically minded, and I suppose we have you to thank for that tek). In this thread alone I am seeing: Six Sigma and HQ Masters disapproving of the map Rocket (a little ways off from your assurance of the majority of the teams in the HQ playoffs), and W4R, FZ, and i.rev agreeing with the selection of Rocket.

Good luck, and have fun in the second round.

anyone can have friends post for them...

nobody asked me to post...i did it cause i didnt like seeing everyone hate on rocket while the peopel who liked the map choice just sat silently.
What's truley wrong with Rocket? Sure, maybe I don't like it all that much, but that doesn't mean it's a bad map. And no i'm just saying it's a good map because Cavi voiced for it, I can make my own opinions.

Off when we started in HQ, (like 8 months ago) we really enjoyed playing Rocket for it. Only a few months later did we not enjoy it as much, when the teams started to get a little tougher. Rocket's got a little bias on indoor rockets, but there are some that do spawn back at the allied spawn, the MG Nest and in the single outside bunker. Then of course you have your underground radios ect. HQ is a dynamic gametype, it's really hard to make 'hq strats' when you've got to move every time it's destroyed, and even then you don't know if you'll get the radio at all. (that's when it gets ugly)

So in my conclusion i'd just like to point out I myself, have nothing against this for a playoff map.
Not everyone is going to like or agree with every choice that is made and that is fine. Thats called Life..

And since this thread is becoming nothing more than a rant.. it is now locked.

Have a GREAT Day!!!
