AASM utility

I read in another one of your posts Scott that you are going to start utilizing the AASM remote control addition that came out with AA 2.3.0. I was wondering when this is going to take off.

It's available right now and in fact deployed on many of our servers already.

For existing servers to get it ASAP, a support ticket is needed.

Here is an installation ticket that has more information about it:

We are pleased to tell you that AASM is being installed on your server as a courtesy to you and at no charge. It's included with 2.3, but you can download it here if you need it: http://leia2.trinitygames.com/~allfrag/aa230/AASMInstaller.msi

While we are happy to run this additional service for your account, you must read the following:

Trinity Gaming does not directly support the individual usage of AASM.

As with all things of this nature, you must do some reading to learn how to use it properly to configure your server:

+ Read the PDF manual that came with AASM or get it here:
http://leia2.trinitygames.com/~allfrag/aa230/Getting%20Started%20With%20AA%20Server%20Manager.pdf

+ Read our quick start at:
http://www.allfrag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=564#564

+ Get support at:
http://forum.americasarmy.com/

Unfortunately, we cannot offer configuration/server setup assistance or educational support for how to use AASM to control your individual server.

It is our job to host your game server and ensure that it runs smoothly and lag-free. It is your job to learn how to use the tools provided.

There is plenty of well-written documentation included and many available support channels, but you will likely have to do some reading.

The links above should get you started, but are by no means a complete listing. Plan to spend some time learning to use this valuable tool properly.

---

Once AASM is installed, it becomes your sole gateway to total external access to the server. All other control panels will no longer function. Start and stop the server with AASM. Do not modify any INI files via FTP once AASM is installed to your account. Doing so may interfere with and break AASM's operation.

If you have recently requested AASM installation, please note that it may take up to 48 hours for us to install it. We have many requests for it, and we are installing it in the order the requests arrive. All installations are done manually, by hand, by one of our technical staff, and then tested.

---

Please let me know if you have any questions about AASM, or open a support ticket if you need it installed on your server.
Just to summarize:

+ AASM is available right now on any TWL/Trinity Gaming server.

+ You should open a support ticket to get it ASAP.

+ All servers will have it as default as we progress.

+ There is no additional charge to install or run the additional daemon.

+ AASM will be the default if initial tests go well. We will not support multiple controller platforms.

We have not mass-deployed it because we wanted our "power users" to run it for a while to uncover any potential bugs before the masses use it.

Thank you Scott. I will have a support ticket in soon. Thanks again.

Scott Good work on letting us use the AASM Server Manager. It is so easy to change configs for matches now. Thanks.

I have put together a step by step tutorial on the AASM utility. This tutorial explains each step to making a new server config. This is limited to the local user setup not the remote server control. But once you get the idea and create your configs, it is not hard to upload these to your Trinity/allfrag servers. You can read it here on the America's Army forums.
[EDIT:]
This tutorial now has the AASM guide and information on the use of the RCU (Remote Control Utility) Program that comes with AASM
