apparently i have to make a thread on changing rules! SO!

can we plz change it so a team has access to serversides of a match regardless? this way we can actually determine if its even worth disputing by viewing them OURSELVES. this would minimize admin involvement as well....and prevent flames....etc.

anyways, that is all, ty
rule change* ftl. wow.
Only been saying this for a couple years.
Yea, TAM needs a lot more "expert" finger pointing.

I wouldn't open that for anti-cheat purposes, but rather entertainment purposes (and debunking enemy strats, etc).

I would leave the anticheat to TWL admins as it's their priority to find cheaters, not the players. If you think someone is cheating, just call them out. If you don't think you have proof, then keep it to yourself.

There is a lot of paranoia going around that needs to get nipped in the butt.
What Habs is asking for is something similar to what PG had. After a match was played, teams could upload screenshots and demos that get attached to that match perm. TWL has the demo feature if a team uploads a demo. Anybody can see it after it's uploaded.

This?

You can upload all the demo's you want, and ask others to too. the only way people WILL is if it's forced.
yea, i'm saying for SS's to be mandatory. yeah its cool to see ur own team play in matches...but then also u want to see if a dispute should even be made. and what if ur point of view was just wrong? a dipuste would be filed thinking it was right...then when u look at serversides u realized u made a booboo, many people do. this way....disputes would be minimized imo.
Habs, I've already seen the giant fits that go down if a team thinks the demo shows something and admins disagree. All this does is invite more fighting. If you want a nice cheat-free experience, LAN.
I could care less about disputes, if SS are mandatory to take, then both teams should get them, not just the team that owns the server.
double post, woops.

You do realize THIS IS AN INCONVENIENCE for most people?
The majority of people who play this game arn't 35 and their life's endeavor isn't to manage PRO UT2K4 TEAMS. Alot of people enjoy playing online, from the convenience and comfort of their own home. The majority of TWL's player base aren't diehard players. I believe you said it best. TWL is a casual league.

Demo's are mandatory, afaik. It just isnt mandatory for ServerSides. It's probably more convenient for ServerSides than for EVERY SINGLE PERSON to demorec.

Is there a benefit of client sides versus server sides?

I believe the main thing here should be for SERVERSIDES TO BE MANDATORY, instead of EVERY SINGLE PERSON demoing. Easy, and then no one can complain because the server admin would be at fault.

If that becomes mandatory, then work from there imho.

I think server sides are mandatory, you just dont have to provide them to the other team.
orly? didn't know that. i just thought "demo's" were.
this is what i meant. i want serversides to be available to the team without a dispute.
have you tried asking them for them, nicely?

if it was mandatory for SS's, which im not sure, then i don't see a problem with giving them up. the only problem would be if they weren't required and they dont have them.
when you ask you get...

"y? u think we hax? u noob"
i tried asking usu nicely, izzo and alpha both gave me different answers as to who had ftp, and then they pasted to me how cookies was laughing at me getting the run around. i got fed up and disputed for the demos, but they said that it was after the 24 hr time limit, (10 MINUTES LATE) so i'm assuming they purposely did this, because as you know, usu is a mature clan.

so yes i did ask nicely and this is an example as to why it should be mandatory to just freaking hand it over if asked.
both client and server sides are mandatory and in the case of dispute only server sides are shared.
talk about mature.

good job..ur gonna get this thread locked.
Asking nicely isn't good enough, otherwise this thread wouldn't be around. It's pretty simple, if the owner of the server has the demo, the other team should also have access to the demo of the match played.

I've long wondered, what's the justification for this? Serversides supersede clientsides in every single regard. If you actually suspend teams for not providing serversides for matches played on their server, what's the point of also requiring clientsides?
make the mandatory serversides available to both teams after a match. really stupid that this isn't already a rule

It used to be an unwritten rule at TWL-UT that if a teams takes a server-side demo, that team must provide it to the other team if asked. No need to dispute. Jaa forced another team to give 187 a server side demo a few years ago.

This new rule is very unsportsmanlike.

EiF once gave me the same run around. I think ALG no longer likes me

Sorry, it was a common sense decency thing that ever admin up until SS where forced did.

If the old 187 forums where not lost, i would have a direct quote from Jaablaze stating that any server side demos of a match need to be shared amongst both teams.

lol, you said the same thing last time one of these threads came around. I apologized and said I had changed my mind since then, and explained how the recent assholishness of certain teams towards us made you an unfortunate target. Are you going to keep bringing this up until the end of time, or are you going to accept the apology?
the decision seems to be unanimous, how can we make this a rule so this irrational behaviour stops (ie. usu match)

I remember mentioning it in the past, but I don't think i read your response. I still don't think you like me no more

SK is about to post calling you a hypocrit, be ready.
I think Dick Cheney is about to post calling me a flip-flopper.

I know our team has requested SS from clans after a match and been REFUSED/IGNORED. Sportsmanlike conduct is non-issue here. Make this a rule kthxbai.
ss's and clientsides both have their advantages and disadvantages. thats why each is mandatory.
