1v1 question

Could someone explain to me how it is i get challenged by one guy (which i got an email about) i responded and never recieved a reply about. Now "supposedly i got challenged by another guy, never recieved an email and HE supposedly won how in the blue hell did that happen? someone explain that to me

Are you just responding via e-mail or are you coming here to your TWL contol panel and offering dates/times/maps/etc?

You need to reply in match comms in your profile.

Also, you need to make sure that you accept the match within 48 hours of the challenge. If you dont, you will be forfeited.

i did accept the challenge that i got also picked 2 dates it didnt give me the option to pick a map (was greyed out) i guess he was a no show so i got the forfiet but i was supposedly challeng by someone else but didnt recieve an email .

on 1v1 ladders the map is random...

Why dont the 1v1 ladder play best 2 out of 3 maps like proving grounds did when it was in operation?

If I get lucky on one map against a decent player that doesn't mean I'm better than he or she is. That just means I got lucky.

By no means am I any great skilled player, but I'm in it for fun and if I can achieve some rank in the process that would be bonus to me.

Also seems to be a lot of people in the 1v1 not responding to challenges. I've made 3 chalenges so far, and not a one has responded. "granted I'll probably loose if they did LOL" Is there a problem with the ladder, or are the people I've been challenging just out of town or not available? Seems to be a lot of forfeits in the lower end of the 1v1 ladder. So I challenged up a bit higher and still no response.

I think that's just a problem with a ton of n00bs signing up just for the hell of it, then forgetting they're on the ladder. Keep challenging up and getting forfeited up until you hit the upper ranks, where the players actually bother to check to see if they've been challenged so they can respond. It sucks because you have to wait two days before TWL will grant the forfeit win, but if you keep at it you'll eventually get someone who responds to your challenge. It would be nice if inactive players could be more efficiently pruned from the ladder, though.

thanks. I emailed the admins asking they look into my last challenge thats more than 3+ days old. I just didnt want to be to pushy because I know sometimes people live a life outside of gaming and dont check email every day.

I'm lookin forward to getting a match played at some point.
I think I'll throw a party when that happens.

Correction:

It does not email you when your challenge is accepted. I just found out my dude accepted by logging into my profile section and going to "admin" on the 1v1 ladder. If my newbness here at TWL is the source for this confusion and the system is not supposed to email a confirmation when the challenged person accepts the match then Im sorry about all that.

P.S. if the system doesnt email in this case maybe it should?

You are correct, the system does not email you when your opponent accepts your challenge. You need to check the status of your account on the ladders once a day.

got my first match in last night.

it was great, my competition was a really good sport, very friendly and helpful as well. I enjoyed the experience. People like him make the game fun again. I'm lookin forward to being active as long as I can, and me and sudden might be itting the 2v2 ladder soon as he gets DSL.
