The TeamWarfare League is issuing an amnesty period to cover Thanksgiving. The Amnesty period starts on Monday, November 23th and ends on Sunday, November 29th. There will be no forfeits awarded for no-shows during this time period, and matches can be killed or rescheduled at the discretion of either of the teams. LOLWAT? Do things not come up for you last minute? Does family not arrive in town a day earlier for you? Does your GF invite you over for dinner with her parents but you can't go because you've already had too much wine? Amnesty is what keeps us from turning into all out game zombies brah.

amnesty is what allows people to back out of commitments. and guess what i dont get to see my family on holidays when i want to....i dont have a choice in the matter being in the Forces. but i also know if my team commits to something they do it or suffer the loss.
Backing out of a commitment and my cousin from New York showing up at my doorstep last minute for thanksgiving are two different things.

You have to understand that family > gaming and I pity you that you have that backwards.

Ya all that happens for me too but in October and TWL doesn't seem to give a crap so I don't agree with this amnesty either.

exactly, everyone knows RL comes before a game, (or should), but if your team commits to a date you should have no problem with your 2 options....play or forfiet....
Why would it happen in October if Thanksgiving is in November?

Canadian Thanksgiving is in October...
Ah, thats the issue. Canadians want there amnesty too. I dig, I dig.
I am Canadian, i dont want the amnesty period.
What you are saying is you don't want it now... because this time of month and year is nothing to you... but be humble and realize to all the Americans playing, we need the amnesty.
the only time of the year i could see an amnesty being useful is Christmas as most people aren't even around then. even if there wasn't an amnesty during that period i would Easily Forfeit a match if my team says they wont make it and I'm sure they wouldn't make it over the Christmas holidays. Don't forget not everyone gets to see their family when they want or if they want to. I don't even know if i get to go home for Christmas....
What about Hanukkah? Which falls a week earlier.
yes i agree Hanukkah deserves it as well. i should have been more specific about that. All celebrations for that time of year i do not see any issues with.
I guess Eid should have had it aswell, too bad we played a match on it.
You guys are hilarious, i see everyone working their own angles but lets face it. No one is going to be completely happy with what TWL admins rule. Some are going to be thankful cus they were struggling to get guys out for the match and others will be pissed cus they are ready to go. Do agree that only the USA holidays are recognized? NO.....but do i care considering TWL ( I believe ) is based out of the USA and most of the Admins are American...NO. The only thing they should do is realize that when posting something about a Thanksgiving Holiday Amnesty Period, is dont put ( NORTH AMERICA ) beside it. Because that is simply not true. Only one country celebrates thanksgiving in November. All commonwealth countries celebrate it in October.
