CoD4 Season 1 5v5 SAB League Championship

The finals for the Call of Duty 4 Season 1 5v5 SAB League have arrived. We are all in for a very exciting match between #3 seed I95 and #1 seed DT. Here is all the information you need to know about the clans and how they got to this exciting match-up.

The #3 seed is Team |I95|. They ended the regular season with a record of 6-2 with wins over STK Gaming, Bitches in Action, The Syndrome, 320th Infantry, Inevitable Fate, and [OBC]Black-Ops. Their two losses were to Area.5¹ and the team they are going to face in the championship, Divine Talent. In the first round of the play-offs, they faced [OBC]Black-Ops, who they had previously beaten during season play. They won the first round match-up 4-1 behind a 260+ kill performance on Crash. In the semifinal round, they faced STK Gaming. They also won this match 4-1 behind a solid all-around team performance on Strike. In both matches combined, at least four out of the five players for I95 had positive or even K/D ratios.

I95 has been around for about a year now and was founded by Misguided, Caim, and TheStrawman. It is a competitive CoD4 clan with roots in FPS games like MoH:AA and other games within the CoD series. They do not really have a starting five because all members are considered match eligible. They rely on Caim to bring the guys together for the matches, and UrDead, Sonic, and TheStrawman for preparation and fluidity on a daily basis. They are a very tight-knit group who all get along, and everyone has a say; there is no one leader. |I95|Slowpoke is the clan mascot. The reason they call their team I95 gaming is because all the members live on the east coast with immediate access to Interstate 95, which runs down the eastern seaboard. When asked about the upcoming championship match against DT, Sonic said, "We could really care less about winning the championship but beating DT would be great!"

The regular season champs and the #1 seed going into the tournament is Divine Talent. Their league-leading 8-0 record came with wins over Shock-and-Awe, The Syndrome, I95, Area.5¹, Clutch Impact, [OBC] Black-Ops, Gods of Myth, and The Bleeding Hearts. In the first round of the play-offs, they faced The Syndrome, whom they had previously beaten during the regular season 6-0. The Syndrome had to play a man down, again, DT won convincingly, 6-0. In the semifinal round, they faced |uo1|, whom they had not seen in season play. This, however, did not matter because they beat |uo1| 4-2 behind a 300+ kill performance. Four out of the five members in that match had a positive K/D ratio with a nearly 3:1 ratio performance from one of their leaders, Carn.

Divine Talent has been playing together since June of 2002 and was founded by Carn and Quiz. It also a competitive CoD4 clan. Divine Talent started playing CoD at TWL in 2003, and have won the TWL CoD2 CTF league championship three times. They also do not have a set starting five; however, Carn and NTox both see a lot of action. NTox and Carn are both considered to be the leaders on and off the battle field. The reason they call their team Divine Talent is that it describes them perfectly, always at the top of their game and the top of the standings. In regard to the upcoming championship match against I95, Carn said, "We won't lose to I95, never have and never will."

The match between these teams on Wednesday night was very exciting. The first map was Citystreets and I95 broke out a 2-0 lead within the first five minutes of play. At this time, Carn and the rest of DT realized they were losing and kicked it into overdrive. The DT members collected themselves and tightened up communication. Once DT started controlling the I95 spawn, I95 could not regain control and DT went 4-0 to end the map. This means DT took map 1, 4-2. Map 2, in the best of three series, was Backlot. I95 jumped out to a 1-0 lead but again Carn and crew turned the tides. DT did not have any problems and took it to I95 by controlling the spawn area. They again put on an impressive show and went on a 4-0 run to take map 2, 4-1, and the championship 2-0. DT had nearly 500 kills combined from both maps; however, Carn was definitely the MVP for DT with a nearly 3:1 K/D ratio in the same time span. I95 had just over 360 kills across both maps with Sonic leading the way at 83.

Congratulations to Divine Talent for winning the first season of CoD4 5v5 SAB League over I95, 2-0! Good luck to all teams in season 2!
