RTCW: Battle of The Beach III

Hartford, CT, U.S.A. --Inspired by Hollywood, planet-rtcw.com's own resident QuakeCon veteran, TeamWarfare is teaming up with id Software and itg Radio to bring you the "Battle of the Beach III" Tournament for the acclaimed first person shooter, Return to Castle Wolfenstein (RtCW). Powered by the Quake III Arena game engine, and created by the developers of said cult classic, RtCW became an enormous hit and over the past couple years has gained a cult following all its own. Hollywood and his team "Affliction" <--??? took 3rd place in Qcon's RtCW tournament in 2005. He has been an active part of the 'Cult Following' mentioned earlier, and has been working hard to bring the RtCW nation back to what it used to be by helping to organise this exciting event!

The timeline for this event is as follows:

• May 1st: Signups will begin and last through May 6th. Click here to view the Brackets / Signups page.
• May 7th: Brackets will be finalized.
• Week of May 8th: Round 1; 32 Teams will play 16 Games. 4 teams on each day, Monday-Thursday.
• Week of May 15th: Round 2; 16 teams will play 8 games, 2 each day Monday - Thursday.
• Week of May 22nd: Round 3; 8 teams will play a total of 4 matches, 2 on Wed. 2 on Thurs.
• Week of May 29th: Round 4; The Remaining 4 teams will play 2 games. 1 From each division on Thursday.
• June 4th (SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!!) Finals Sunday: The final 2 teams will face off in what's expected to be a bloodbath of a battle for the Championship Title.

Competing teams have a chance to win any number of fantastic prizes that have been generously donated by the Tournament sponsors which may include, but are not limited to, id Software, who are giving away some really nice signed posters, as well as RTCW Collectors Tins, Trinity Gaming, who is donating servers for the tournament, as well as possible cash prizes donated by our sponsors.
