TeamWarfare Staff Structure Changes

As we announced yesterday, TeamWarfare has reached a new milestone. We have surpassed the Half-a-Million Member mark and are expanding by leaps and bounds in the European gaming communities. To adapt and continue to provide the best administration possible, TeamWarfare has initiated some structure changes to their staff hierarchy.

A new position has been created. Competition Directors, the admins who oversee a game series or groups of games, will now have a senior operations staff member that they directly report to. Two new Regional Competition Directors will oversee the North American and European divisions, respectively. Their job is to make sure that all of the games subscribe to established structure, protocols, rule sets, and time proven methods that have made TeamWarfare successful. The Regional Competition Directors will also be responsible for upcoming game releases. They will work with game developers and put together a temporary test staff to prepare ladders, rules, and play test the game demos. Upon the game's release, they will help to train the permanent game staff and make recommendations pertaining to competition styles. Expect them to partner with public relations efforts to oversee sponsored events and tournaments. Lastly, they may play arbitrator should any issue arise with a Competition Director.

Extreme care was taken in selecting the Regional Competition Directors. All current and former Competition Directors were considered and the choice was not easy. Every one of them is dedicated, objective, and has performed exemplary service to TeamWarfare and their respective gaming communities.

For the European Division, the decision was made to promote Ian 'Beaver' Craven from Competition Director of Europe to Regional Competition Director. Beaver has been on staff since 2004, over seeing all of the Ghost Recon competition before being promoted to more senior European TeamWarfare positions. Initiative, enthusiasm, a willingness to jump feet first into any project, and patience in adversity have been the hallmarks of Beaver's career here at TeamWarfare. The European division would not exist, as we know it today, without Beaver being the driving force behind it.

The new Regional Competition Director for North America is John 'SpaZ' Perez. Prior to his recent retirement, he was the Competition Director for games such as Medal of Honor, FEAR, all of the Console Games, and a host of others over the years. He is truly passionate in his work for TeamWarfare and his ability to be objective and his sense of fair play are legend. SpaZ’s pearls of wisdom and nuggets of pithy insight are well known to Staff and players alike. In a phone interview with him earlier this week, SpaZ gave us this gem of profundity about his new role of Regional Competition Director, "You just volunteered me for what?". Words to live by folks, words to live by.

There have been new additions in the Site Support Department as well. With half a million members, you can imagine the amount of work to be done. Former America’s Army Competition Manager M@ddog and the ever-popular eN_CabanaNate have been tapped to help out full time. They will be processing name changes, working with players to manage their accounts, fixing titles, and a slew or other site related projects. Tankd will be taking a well-earned break once he is confident that the new staff members are fully trained and ready to get down to business.

News too for the Call of Duty Series of games. Wyldchild, who has been on hiatus for several months, is rejoining the ranks of the TeamWarfare Competition Directors. Her 4+ years of administration with various TeamWarfare games earned her very welcome leave of absence, at double pay no less . Anarchy has running the games during her hiatus, but is looking forward to devoting one hundred percent of his time to improving participation in TeamWarfare’s ever expanding European division.

Perennial whipping boy and general nuisance, T. Wrecks, has taken over TeamWarfare’s Marketing department and will begin to integrate that department with the News Staff, which he currently oversees. The two will eventually fall under the umbrella of a TeamWarfare Public Relations Department and work hand in hand with both Regional Competition Directors to inform and promote TeamWarfare across the globe. T. Wrecks petitioned the Senior Staff to bestow upon him the official title of “Senior Grand Lord Marshall of Smeg and Head Cheese of News, Marketing, and General Absurdities”, but this was shouted down in a midnight staff session amid cries of, “You don’t actually do anything here to begin with!” and “How did you make unto the staff anyway?”. He will be backing away from one of his current duties, General Forum Moderator, both slowly and literally. A good lesson here is “Never turn your back on a TWL General Forum troll, they may well kill you”.

The entire staff of TeamWarfare is proud of the progress to date, and they look forward to the next 500,000 members. In the months and years to come, they all will be eager to pursue new game ladders, leagues, tournaments, and to continue support online gaming communities throughout the world.

Don't knock it. I'm dating twins (read: hands) and I love it.

Ok, so maybe I don't love it. But it's better than your mom.
