The Release of Call of Duty 2
Gear up for the extensively anticipated release of the sequal to 2003's game of the year. Call of Duty 2 promises to give you the same results as the original times a hundred. That's right, different missions, different locations, 15 new weapons added, and more ways to complete a mission. Plus go online for fast-paced Axis vs. Allies exciting team-based multiplayer action.
Get your uniforms and boots out of storage and dust them off and prepare to go into war with this exciting and extremely addictive action packed game. What is that you say?? You don't have a uniform or boots?? How do you expect to march into war without them?? How are you expecting to hold your weapons and ammo?? You call yourself a soldier?? You surely don't expect to walk out into the battlefield in your boxers and bare feet. Pahleeze! You'll be desicrated!
"Okay, Listen up Soldier, you need to look alive and remain strong. You don't know what is hiding behind every corner. Always keep your eyes peeled. Try and come out alive. Make us proud. Alright.....Head out Soldier!"
*Imagine....You are out on the battle field. Shots firing every which way, wizzing past your head. Your fellow soldiers following you into the heat of it all. Nowhere to take cover, no turning back. It's the road you have chosen to walk and to defend it along the way. Every decision you make reflects on your team surviving. Smoke fills the air and you cough as it fills your lungs. You cringe as you hear: "They are shooting right at us!!" But you continue forward, directing your men. "Keep the pressure on them! Go! Go! Go!" You shout. Moving forward yet slowly to avoid a downfall. Some men are left behind. "Man Down.....We've got a man down over here!!". Bullets still flying within the air you breathe. You don't know if the next time you take a breath, if it's going to be your last. "Enemy Down!" A teammate screams. It's quiet now. All you hear is the sound of the wind blowing through your ears. You and your team have defended your mission. "Okay soldiers....Lets get out of here."
Most of the graphics of the new Call of Duty 2 have enhanced qualities which are stunningly realistic which redefine the cinimatic intensity and chaos as seen through the eyes of you and your team. As soldiers you fight real life battles of World War II. Through snow, rain, fog and smoke you battle along side your comrades in this constant edge of your seat thrilling nail biter of an adventure.

Last thing first... The only Call of Duty battle we are returning to in Call of Duty 2 is Stalingrad, and that's just because it was so epic, so mind-bogglingly huge, and so important to the entire war that you could easily make five to six games about it and just get started on fully depicting it all by itself. Other than Stalingrad, we are also featuring the winter war where, in 1941, the German army rolled to within 20 miles of the gates of Moscow before the terrific cold and the tenacity of the Russians brought it to a halt. A new setting for us is North Africa, where we are featuring battles in Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt between Montgomery's 8th Army and Field Marshal Erwin Rommel and his famous Afrika Korps. The best known of these battles is the huge and critical battle of El Alamein, where the British went so far as to make fake tank units, using wood and paint, in order to trick the Germans into defending in the wrong place. As you can see, there is so much of the war left to cover.

Rest assured that in Call of Duty 2, we'll have not only driving, but also riding--plus providing escort--missions. As an example, one of the driving missions places players in a British Crusader Mark II tank in the middle of an epic desert tank battle. Immediately, players will notice the much larger scale of battle; we're talking an order of magnitude bigger than the original. In this particular mission, your orders are to take on the larger and well-armed German tank division of General Rommel. Players will be in a lighter, faster squadron of tanks battling these enormous Axis machines, and the action unfolds from there. Call of Duty 2 focuses on the infantry throughout epic ground-based assaults.
Can History repeat itself? Personally, I think anything is possible at this point. But it's up to you which direction you decide is good for your team. Remember, you ARE history. You are already there, standing in the middle of it all. You have taken a trip backward to World War II, to the most powerful, most immense, most adrenaline pushing war situations ever imagined. You, my friend, must fight and protect your fellow man and make it out alive. History may then take another turn as you force through a wide range of locations and environments.
There are so many people that are entranced about the release of Call of Duty 2. Many of whom which are your fellow gamers and CoD2 Admins here at Teamwarfare. I gained some insight myself, by using my keen senses and listening in on what they had to say about the release of Call of Duty 2, all of which have been playing the original Call of Duty since it's release.
Thier thoughts on the Demo:

"I played the demo as soon as it was released. I love demo and have a bad habit of playing it over and over. Sometimes I still play it on my laptop in school."

"Yes, I have played the demo. It gives a very good display of how single-player will work. It's interesting and the graphics are great. However, it doesn't really give much on the multiplayer aspect we're all interested in."

"Overall, I liked the demo. It was not quite what I expected, but was at least a sample. I was hoping to experience all of the guns, and more of a linear play, however, I guess demos are always limited. I liked the many options to customize your graphical options so that the low end PC's could play "nice" as well as the high-end could see all the good eye candy."

"I have played the Single Player (SP) demo and have been impressed with the improved graphics quality and game play. I am not impressed with the ability to jump like a rabbit, but I do know the Muli-Player (MP) will most likely be quite different. The demo is presented for a reason, to get feedback from players and to make last minute tweaks to the MP version. The MP version is what people want and is by far the most popular aspect of the game."
What Highlights are you looking forward to in the release of CoD2?

"The impoved graphics and smoother game play as well as a few new added features, like the sniper mode. The Graphics are night and day and my high end graphics card runs them like a dream! The sniper mode allows you to get a steadier shot off (according to reviews/reports) but you have tunnel vision and can't hear as well or at all...."

"The graphics! They look many times better than the original."

"I think the way that single player is setup now will bring a lot of fun to it and hopefully bring a refreshing look to that part of the game. I really do not see a big difference yet as far as theme, but I do like the way the game looks and feels after playing the single player."

"Well, I have not even seen too many articles to begin with, but the ones I have seen have kept me interested. I'm pretty excited about the new selection of guns, maps and game play. I think the idea of climbing over walls makes more sense than jumping over them. I am also curious to see how the "sniper holding his breath" for greater accuracy works. The new graphics, scenarios and guns will definitely make this game different from its predecessor."

"I got hooked on the video released on the D-Day invasion. It held my attention as the character worked his way through the trenches and pwned the enemy. The action was intense and really heightened my desire to want to play CoD2."
Do you think CoD2 will be more of a hit than the original?

"This game definitely has a big name to upkeep. The original Call of Duty was a big hit, and now they have to come out with a better version, and one that will satisfy the many groups of players that like it "their way." I feel this sequel will be a big hit amongst the community provided that Infinityward/Activision (or Microsoft's big pockets wanting the game their way for xbox) did not mess up anything. I realize the game is built with single player in mind, but I hope that they will have an anti-cheat mechanism, or at least one coming to us ASAP."

"It's hard for a sequal to surpass it's predecessor but it's especially hard when that game was the 2003 Game of the Year. I think this game will be as good, but we'll have to wait and see about that better part."

"I feel the sequel may be more of a hit than the original CoD because of the anticipation. If the game fairs as well as it's advertisement, most people will be satisfied. At least the people who were not very happy with CoD:UO and went back to vCoD, will enjoy better graphics, access to different weapons and enjoy the same game types with the addition of improved HQ and CTF."
Also from my experience reading and researching the game, I have come across information from people who actually tested out the Multi Player Deathmatch mode. The full article can be found HERE.
Quoted from Article:
"In an interesting twist, it seems that the new game engine is capable of playing original Call of Duty maps, it wasnt difficult to import them. I say this because the multiplayer testing we did was deathmatch in Carentan. Unfortunately, it was only raw deathmatch so we couldnt report on any new game modes available yet."
The company's designer/manufacturer has been pretty tight-lipped on the release of any information pertaining to the Multi Player mode, but promises outstanding game play and other amazing aspects different from the original. This is going to be a huge surprise and hopefully, a massive hit.
The graphics have been mentioned several times. Anywhere from enhancing them from the original Call of Duty, to using a different enhanced graphic engine to make the game feel and play, more realistic. Anyone watching the teaser trailers available HERE would agree that the graphics are more enhanced. You will be impressed with Call of Duty 2's striking new visuals, advanced A.I. technology, and the most authentic squad combat and astonishing action in new historic campaigns.
"Soldier! Once you step into the battlefield, you and your teammates must defend the lives of each other. There is no Superman. The man of steel will not protect you in this land of confusion, land of chaos and the land of war. It is up to you and your teammates decisions whether or not you will make it out alive. You will be haunted by a million screams from the enemies. So tighten the laces on your boots, Soldier. Pull up those boxers and pack plenty of ammo and med kits in your errr....Ummmm...Well Just pack plenty of them. You will need them! Answer your Call of Duty again in part deux. Okay.....Head out Soldier!"___________________________________________________________________________________________
