If you answered playing video games, then you are not alone. Thousands of gamers each year celebrate the passing of 52 weeks by killing total strangers in online competition. From fighting aliens forces to commanding a team of elite soldiers in battle, gaming can be a great way to usher out 2004.
But then you have to ask yourself, why play for just one day when you can play for three? Why play at home with strangers when you and your friends can play together in the same room with hundreds of others? Why play for glory alone when you can play for a chance to win amazing prizes and be crowned the first tournament champion of 2005?
The answer to all those questions is, MitsuLAN.
The folks over at MitsuLAN are giving you a chance to ring in the new year with style. Three solid days of competition, live music, prizes, drinking, good food, and tournaments.
This amazing LAN party is scheduled to kick off on December 29th and run straight through to the wee hours of 2005. The entire event will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in sunny Anaheim, California and admission is only $100 dollars for the entire event.
Tournaments currently slated include the following games: Halo 2, CounterStrike, Tribes Vengenace, Unreal Tournament 2004, Enemy Territory, Call of Duty, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, Tekken Tag Tournament, Soul Caliber, Madded 2005, and good ole' original Tribes. Sorry, no tournament for the Sims...
There are plenty of prizes to be awarded to the winning teams, and those who stay through midnight on the 31st will have the chance to win additional prizes and will be treated to a Champagne toast.
This is an event customed made for gamers, and is sure to be three days of intense gaming competition. Pre-registration ends on December 25, 2004, so if you're in the Anaheim area or plan on making the trip, be sure to register early so you don't miss out.
