The Associated Serial Killers

Historical capture recovered from the Wayback Machine · captured 2005-08-18 · 28 posts
As teams come and go there are few teams that seem to stand the test of time against all odds. This brings to mind an old Tribes1 clan called Associated Serial Killers, {ASK} for short. Associated Serial Killers is one of the oldest clans on Teamwarfare. The team was formed on June 15th of 1999. The Associated Serial Killers hold the record for most matches played in Teamwarfare’s history. In the past 3 years {ASK} has played an impressive 85 matches, that is not including their Tribes1 5v5 team. How does a clan that is so well respected in the Tribes1 community survive all the competitive game play? They have seen many players come and go, yet they still seem to hang in there.

I had a chance to catch up to Candyman the founder of {ASK} I asked him a few questions and here is what he had to say. How did you come up with the name Associated Serial Killers? He replied “The name came from me and the other person that started the team, ZodiacKilla, for a while we did not have a name.” “Amy (angel) at the time was reading about serial killers because she was wanting to go into criminal pathology, so I put serial killers in and zod put associated that is how the name originated.”

How do you keep a clan like {ASK} up and running? Candyman explained, “To keep a clan up and running is through the hard work and determination of dedicated members.” Candyman adds that, “it is more about forming friendship and playing to have fun more than anything else.”

What major obstacles have you faced? Candyman replied "other teams, ego’s.” He also added “bad attitudes are the other major problems" those are just a few problems he has faced in his experience with the clan.

I asked Candyman what was his favorite match; he quickly replied, “{ASK} vs. Ex Nihilio. #2 spot on OGL.” At the time everyone was expecting Ex to win, but The Associated Serial Killers came up with an upsetting win.”

I would like to wish {ASK} or should I say .sK (Serial Killaz - Associated No More) the best of luck in Tribes: Vengeance and other future Teamwarfare games. I would like to personally thank Candyman for his hard work and determination he set for the clan. It was a great privilege to play under such an outstanding leader. He deals with the best and the worst and always seems to come out on top.

Thats awesome how clans can stick together for so long. You have to have made some great friendship if your clan has stuck it through for 5 years. GJ Serial Killaz! You guys must have a lot of fun just chattin with each other on TS or Vent remembering all the "old times"

Never heard of {ASK} before, but I do respect them if nothing else for their ability to stay a cohesive unit for as long as they have. In this day and age, it's fairly common to see clans come and go for lack of leadership, which ASK looks to have. Congrats to {ASK} for making it last for so long. I hope that 5 years from now I can look back and say that :4i: has been around as long. GG
Nice!

.ISO||| have played 79 matchs on TWL, in less than 2 years!

80th match is in "awaiting challenge" mode

We will be celebrating our 2nd birthday on January 2005.

w00t!
nice job, prankster.
Congrats ASK. Cross Breed played 101 matches before parting TWL Including ISO :o
I dont play tribes, nor have ever competed on twl for it. But congrats Gentleman, i guess 85 matches for trbies in 3 years is alot. Wish i could say the same for AA lol.

GG's. Gl to you and your m8's in the future.

Wow, i was just linked to this....

This thread brings a lot of smiles to my face just reading it. We have been around for a long time. Ive been with them for about 2 years now. We've been through alot and its great to see that people of the community still i guess respect us.

Candyman is right about one thing. The friendship that has bonded this team and all its past and present members is amazing. We were never the best on the ladders but we were/are the best when it comes to repecting other players and having fun while playing.

I myself have throughly enjoyed playing and will continue to play with my team. {ASK} aka .sK .

PS. thanks for the , we pass it right back to you all

everyone was expecting the match before that vs. Abusive to turn out the same way but we played and won

some of the best times i've ever had playing the game

i've played with this team since long before the events mentioned, and will continue to play with them because of Candyman

he's really a great person and a great friend

Ya i agree, he actually came up to a lan. http://www.edlangroup.com and was up for 24 straight hours and i fragged with him for a couple hours at the lan playing tribes. Except i tried to be sneaky and see his Heaven/Hell/5150 pw but didnt see it. He said something like "you only wish you could see this." "dont even try!"

There's a Medal of Honor clan that's played 400+ matches here, not including their various 2v2 teams.

Longevity should be heralded. Nice work. |CO| has over 400 AAO matches alone and Halo has quite a number as well.

We look forward to achieving the longevity mark they hit in T:V.. as we played in other leagues for Tribes Shifter during our run in Tribes 1. =) In that league, we played 152 matches in 14 months.

Nice work ASK. :-)

GGS for being together that long; we here at SoF have been together since the original Rainbow 6; You made me curious when you talked about the # of matches and I came up with 147 in RvS since we joined the ladder....dagon you'd think we would have something more constructive to do in our lives.... ggs ASK/.sK
I thought ASK was dead and sK was a totally different tribe. Anyway yea I remember ASK in the early days (1999 style) and they were amazing even then

I played for {ASK}, too, for the majority of my Tribes 1 "career." It was a pleasure to form a freidnship and play next to one of the most respected members of the Tribes community.
Might wanna ask Auphanclan how many matches they have played...RVS, AS and several other games. They play several hundred per year.
