Some are standard styles. S&D is basically an objective style. Normally there are a few ways to play it. A timelimit for the whole match, or a set total of rounds to be play. This will be decided primarily by the players who will be competing. BTW look for a lot more then just the 2 standard ladders that are currently up.

Yes. Generally TWL always considered the 4 avenues, Ladder style, Open Leagues, Invite Leagues, and Tournaments. The latter depends on a few factors but the basis of them are being hashed out now.

Only prizes offered are for tournament play. Ladders and Leagues are continous whereas tournaments are special events with large sponsers to support prizes.

I'd expect to see it open within 1 week after the game hit store shelves. Assuming no major delays such as teams getting gaming servers, details in the rules which need player feedback etc. This would indicate first week of Nov. will be the target date.

Possibly. Depends on the other modes that will ship with the game. For instance DM mode is not a team event so that type of style is more suited towards Free for all tournaments. However this doesn't mean 1 game mode means 1 ladder. Variations will be added. For example if some maps are large we may consider larger squads. Some may be interested in a 2v2 TDM style ladder. These addtitions are easy to forsee with more information.
