Hey KGB, you guys fought extremely hard...as did we. You conquered on Kharkov! We were dumbfounded by how you played that map...and kicked our heads in We were definitely not ready for that. First time we had to play all three maps.

Yeah, I've never liked Inshallah Valley either. It's probably my most hated map. I personally would like to see it go from the rotation, but what is one man's opinion?

Anywho, looking forward to our next match up.

This is the only verbiage in the rules regarding the maps...

The Ladder is based on a best 2 out of 3 maps scenario. Map selection is random for the first and second maps. The "Defending" team selects the tiebreaker map. The "Defending" team chooses map sides and order. The "Attacking" team picks the tiebreaker map sides.

So, explain to me how reading the rules would have given me the indication that if the teams didn't like the first map they could change it?

You can change anything you want in the match, maps, amount of players, start time, etc.
All that's necessary is that both teams agree to said changes and the the details of such are posted in the match comms to avoid any he said/she said crap. That's what the match comms are for, recording the details.
