What are your arena memories...

Since I didn't see a thread on it I wanted to share my arena experience
In hopes some old friends would come out of the wood work and join me in remembering the good old days.

My tribes career really started in death match. I loved the go out and kill anything that moves principal. After hundreds of hours in DM I created a rapport with some of the most lethal killers in tribes.

Then TF_RENDER put together an arena team made up of the elite dmers
Which consisted of myself ( I was known as Iceman -->Eternal--->Phenom before arena), Bean (considered the best DM guy), bo peep (who became known to say "sorry" after each of his kills, and Queegueg.

RENDER came up with the name derived from the movie 5 deadly venoms in what our tag became [5-DVS]. That's where I got my gaming name centipede, Bo peep picked lizard, bean was Toad, Queegueg was Snake and RENDER became Scorpion.

Ill leave you with that and continue tomorrow, and I hope some old faces come back.

How do you remember that stuff? I remember joining Crayons ())_Samjus_))> in DM and being so young. I joined arena but was never any good but still had fun. I miss the old Arena in Tribes and the people.
oh i remember samjus, i remember

Our first 2 matches in 5-DVS were against noob teams, then we played the fairy princesses of nala nala. I was unable to make that match, we lost in a TB.

After awhile with another loss to 555 we pubbed it up but RENDER kinda dissapeared and we all went our seperate ways. Bo peep went to SoD, Bean went back to DM and Queeq was a lone soldier. Thats when i joined [MMC] with NAS, CapnChaos, Suckytrance, Abelon, and Grimmy (did i forget someone there ?)

For me NAS was probably the best all around arena player i have played with. And a great leader, i wonder what happend to that guy

After a fairly long tenure with MMC and getting to #1 and keeping it for a long time (for arena standards- it seemed like every new and cool arena clan came for it on a weekly basis), i created my own tribe in id.

my specialty was indoors. What prompted me to be good at the shield was when i did DM in my earlier years, there was this guy called Willy. He was an older guy who was a shieldpack rat. He was the pioneer to the shield. Noone could hardly kill him indoors. So i learned from him and adapted my own style.

Another guy i brought into the arena scene was DG. I would sometimes go into the ren servers and play around. Then i got compared to this DG guy who i never knew. I came across DG and we played together and brought him over to arena. What a great player. It was great playing with some of the best players and having fun and the clans.

Lets just say, i smurfed in my fair share of #1 matches for other teams, and in one instance, i smurfed for a team and the team i smurfed for didnt even know it haha
Some random arena memories

One match I remember quite well was when we [MMC] played intensive.
At the time Casper had quit intensive to join us. However he wasn't on the twl roster when intensive challenged so he listened to the match on RW.

It was an epic match. We lost the first map 5-4. My effort of winning a 3v1 went to the wayside. It was me vs jive, Utah and can't remember the third. I remember cap'n going nuts though on rw lol. I sat the second map on DX. We won . The third was KUTH. We won that won. Another epic moment where it was NAS and me vs 4 intensive. NAS and I went up the hall way to one of the small rooms and ran into all 4 of them and NAS and I took out 2 right away with simotaneous discs. Ahh good memories.

Were you in a clan called Bands?

Tag was |B|
I remember the EOE: & [MMC] rivalry. When Arena had about 12 maps. Good times!
