Can anyone tell me why sometimes my Tribes 1.11 crashes to desktop and I get a fault error. This has happened on two different systems but with the same basic tribes config. It crashes as soon as i start to query the servers, and if i restart tribes I almost instantly get the same error message pretty much b4 the game loads....the only cure is to restart my puter or cleanout my IE cache files....wtf is this?
and pls dont tell me that IE sucks "so deal with it"

WTF are you doing to your pooters Bone?

Only thing I can think of is you've got something running in background that want's to pop up and therefore is shutting your Tribes down. Click Start, Run, enter msconfig, choose the Startup tab, and uncheck unwanted startup programs.

Maybe this is too simplistic, but it's all I know to try.
my jimmy runs clean...i check msconfig atleast once a week...it can't be that.

i dunno but crying wont help you and praying will do you no good

maybe a fresh install of tribes is in order
Whats your OS + vid card, and the config is a clean install from the CD? and did you try getting your 1.11 patch from a diff site?
win 98...gf2 400 mx...amd 1200 duron....config is not clean from CD, it is from a zip (had to reformat)....and patch is original dl from sierra (haven't tried it from a 2nd source)

install tribes clean, update to 1.11 start up the game and see if it works... if it does then your config may be the prob, so try to ts it ro just start fresh with another and then put in the stuff you like from the old config one by one , if you need help catch me in irc, # BH}_
did you get the zip from a cd? when you do that it sometimes makes everything readonly, and t1 might not like it when you try to refresh your server list and it gets a "read only" response from serverlist.cs
it happens so randommly ...if it was the tribes config or a read only it would happen with some regularity...but I can play for months without it happening and then it happens.....is it possible that my RAM is short or a swap file?...stack dump would seem to infer that the memory was short...but i aint no programmer.

it has to be one of your scrips miss fireing, could be loading up mem after playing for a min or something like that. you can try hitting ` and looking for probs or just strat with a fresh config and put in scripts one by one and test... Thats what I did...
i did that once before to find a .vol file problem...it was time consuming and i don't think this problem is worth it......was kinda hoping it was something simple.

but thanks for the input.
