Anyone have good weapon skins?

Kinda getting bored of the current skins. I've seen some screenshots with hot skins.. anyone have links to some good ones? Thanks!

The T2 Conversion files are great... I use them all and the game actually looks good

They don't work for me. I put them into my skins folder and all i get are messed up tribes 1 skins all over one body... there are hands on my arms!

The Conversion site is mine, I just don't come here as much as I do on Tribalwar.

Well, I don't see why they wouldn't work for you, since it let you actually get in the game. Since you said you got all the files in your base/skins folder, I assume you have all the required .dts and the associated .bmp skin files too. They should be directly extracted from the .zip file you downloaded from my page.

So, what actually happens ? You see the new model, but with the original T1 disc skin ? If that's the case.. you must not have the weapon_disc.bmp file in your skins folder. I'd need a better description of what your problem is, if you want me to provide more help.

What about 'hands' on your arms ? Are you playing in a MOD other than base ? The files on the page are to be used in a base server. You 'can' use them in other MOD's, they're just not meant to be.. that's all.

If you need more help, the #conversion channel is always there to offer support.

How do you get CRC bypass to load the skins?

I just put the crc bypass file in my T1 folder and run the exe before launching tribes... seems to work just fine. My only problem with the T2 skin is now that I have everything in, I don't see a disk in the launcher... I see the disc trail when it fires and the explosion, but no spinning disk. The T2 disk launcher skin is working fine though.

You mean, you don't see the disc spinning in the disc launcher case ? That shouldn't be. The newest release, as well as the previous one had a disc spinning within the case. You might want to get the latest files. Either download the files from my page, find the thread on Tribalwar, or ask me in IRC.

As for the previous poster's problem.. I don't see what you mean. You can get into the server, but you need the weapon models ? That doesn't make sense.. All the files are to be extracted in your base/skins folder. If the game doesn't let you connect to a server, run the CRC bypass. It's very simple.

Btw, my thanks to the guys that worked on these skins... the conversion looks great! Anyhow, that's exactly the problem... I simply don't see the spinning disk in the case. I just recently downloaded the entore skin sets and installed them (About 2 months ago or less). Everything works great except that. When I get a chance, I'll go over the files on your site and compare them to what I have...

Is there a specific file and creation date I should be looking for? I used to have a custom disc skin and perhaps it's screwing things up.

They should be referred as 'models' and not skins . It'd depend on the T2 disc model you are using. There are 2 newer releases of the disc model, one from UltraRaptor one from Phantomstranger.

Here are the basic files you need to run, say the the disc model :

1) disc.dts : the disc model itself;
2) discb.dts : the disc projectile, I don't think I've included this file with the model pack. If you don't have one, it'll use the base projectile, or any projectile you're using right now, maybe rocket discs and such;
3) weapon_disc.bmp : the skin .bmp of the disc model;
4) t2discb.bmp : the skin .bmp of the projectile;
5) t2discl.bmp : the skin .bmp of the case on the disc launcher.

These are the files needed for the T2 disc model. What I think you are using right now, is UltraRaptor's model. You should probably use this : Phantomstranger's latest pack.

This comes with all of the T2 weapons, backpacks, vehicles and player models. The disc model from this pack might be slightly different from the older one. You can try swapping them, and see which one you like better. Just replace the files I've listed earlier.

You should probably take a look at the threads, over at Tribalwar too. There are a lot of things I've covered there, but haven't said here. I don't even think I've posted about these models here in TWL.

What I mean is my person is in the shape of the t2 person, but the skin has like my hand skin on my arms with a black background. Do I have to download every file?

Ergh you are making this more confusing then it has to be. Download the t2 pack skin pack(one with models, packs, & weapons)put all files in the base/skins folder. Get some sort of crcbypass so that you can use the skins serverside. If you are still confused go to tw and ask in the scripting and modifying forums like bliss said. They know more about stuff like this.
