Not... Renegades was cool about 3 years ago, but now it's just plain retarded. Any version 3.0 or higher is shit. I was an avid ren player and was on dHk, a #1 ren team that played on OGL a long time ago, but now I loath it.

Ummm yes it was. There was a time when there was as many teams on the ren ctf ladder as there was on the base ladder. We had our own community forums that were as busy as TW. Please don't talk about things you have no clue about.

Sad but true thing is i played ren for a short ammount of time. So i do know what im talkig about.I thought it was cool (maybe cuz i sucked and got owned on base?) cuz there were all these weapons andit was easy to play. I was like "Rockets are cool!" "awsome a sniper rifle!" "Hey look mines that look like people!" "wowzers i buit a base outta walls!"

When i got good it was only because i started playing base. Then i went back to try ren a few months later and almost gaged. #1 people playing sucked #2 the weapons/turrets and all that other shit are just stupid #3 ren sux

It was a fad at most. Maybe it was good and competative for people that couldnt play the accual game like 99% of the mod community.

Renegades was one of the Tribes modifications that paved the way for Havoc; which in my opinion was the best and most balanced modification available for the game. Although I never got too ivolved with Renegades it does deserve credit for being extremely popular. Gotta at least give it that. But like I said before, Havoc is where it's at.

Ren went to shit because of a major debate on OGL... it's also why a lot of teams quit OGL and went to TWL. Ren was all fine and dandy until they released 3.0, which completely fuked up the balance of the game. O became unstoppable and all the D deployables could be killed with one laser shot... it was retarded. Basically you could have 2 guy in Heavy and totally rape a fully defended base with 5 engineers in one pass. OGL decided to have a vote on whether to use the old version (2.5?) or go to 3.0. The vote came back 52% keep the old, 48% go to new. So they decided to go to 3.0 despite the vote, and everyone went awol. The top 20 teams dropped OGL within a week, and Ren went down completely within the next couple of months.

Faken I remmeber they put out the Vote on OGl and most ppl wanted to stick with 2.5 and they over shadowed the vote and said this is the way it is going to be. Like it or not. ANd that was wht ppl got so pissed about casue they gave us the vote and then overshadowed it with their power. I could be wrong about that becasue that has been a few years ago. I jsut remmeber ppl so upset that they asked why have a vote and then say well we see your side but you will play this becasue we want you to. I myself still play Ren in T2 but T1 Ren owned. I myself like T2 Ren but I cn understand why most of the Old Ren community changed to Base,Base++ and Classic. But for me I still enjoy Ren not because ppl think it is none skilled there still is skill to me that is. In matches I enjoy Classic now and then but I do understand why ppl are nota bout Ren anymore. If anyone feels like they might want to try it out again try to hit up a PU not a pub they might enjoy the change now and then as I do in Classic. Thnx
