Arena

Can someone please explain why ever thinks Arena is fun. I am not trying to bash it, in anyway, but every time i attempt to play it i find my self leaving becase all it is, is people chaining each other with shield packs. Or maybe cause i just suck i dont find it fun, i dunno..

Yes it is, and thats where its needed, but when your just dueling, i think it should just be plasma,grenade and disk along with energy pack. Just an opinion i guess..

Play AUTH and it's just shield/plasma/disk/grenades. That's my fav map. Also, not everyone chains all the time, and it's not like you have to chain to do good. I like trying to beat cg whores with plasma, because if you hit your shots then plasma kills faster than cg. When I first started arena I died all the time and didn't like it too much, but now I love it.

lol i played pilky today in DR no wonder he started this thread. DR is nuthen but shield whore/snipe map.... But arena > ctf and all that other shit.

I'm leaning towards removing Shieldpack from loadout option all together.

Haha that was you? I dunno, im open minded to anything but it seems it was just chain and shield, maybe i caught a bad map i guess.

But wait a minute, i thought Tribes was already dead? Pick one, its dead or not.

Shieldpack was removed from T2 deul long ago and you know it never missed a beat not having the shieldpack.

rofl take away shield from arena? Why? Because ctf'ers get owned by shielders? Any decent/good arena player in epack can kill a shielder.

And you're comparing T2 DUEL? to T1 ARENA? If I remember correctly those are pretty much 2 complete different mods and I still see T2 ARENA with shield packs.

T2 Duel is being used as an example only here guys...many players at the time were very challenged by the idea that a limitation was being installed for the style of gameplay. Once it was put in place it ran smooth.

i mite come back to t1 becuase the t:v admins are out of control.

shield is a huge part of indoor maps, and it has its own strategy to it. comparing it to tribes2 duel is stupid for 2 reasons:

1) they are different games and mods 2) in duel, every map is outdoor
